I really enjoy watching her, but whether she's real or not, only those she reads can say. Some of them seem real, but then ??? DH thinks it's all a put up job, but even he can't explain the tears. I think I'd like her more if she'd cut those nails!!! And I'd like a little less of her home life.

Many years ago in Charlotte, I was introduced to a woman who immediately began to tell me about my life - a little from the past, but most about the future. I couldn't believe the things she was telling me, but down to the last detail they came true. I still think back to that time and am totally amazed.

I think she's real, but parts of the show are staged. Like when she walks up to someone in a store. There are cameramen, cameras, etc around and the people all look so shocked. Why haven't we heard her solving any murder mysteries?? There is a famous case here in IL (Lacy Peterson) who has been missing for years. Why can't Theresa talk to Lacy?? I'd like Theresa to ask my granny - "where are you? Who is with you? Are you in heaven? Have you seen God?" So, maybe she's not so real??

Maybe they came true because she told you ... she gave you a map. You followed her directions. Self-fulfilling prophecy.

I imagine there are real psychics, but most of them fail when put to a real test. The tv psychics only seem to work when they choose the subjects. Then, most subjects start to volunteer information.

I watch, and enjoy the show, and I do believe Theresa has a true gift. I think it is wonderful to see her bring true peace and comfort to people who have carried such emotional anguish after the loss of their loved one. I could never question what she does when so many people bear witness to receiving a level of comfort from her words that they haven't been able to find anywhere else.

I totally agree about the cameramen, etc.

It's Stacy Peterson (Bolingbrook) & then there is Lisa Stebic (Plainfield). Stacy's family is trying to get her declared legally dead.

All the time, I wonder where they are. I keep looking in fields as we drive by, or if they will unearth something every time a new building goes up.

It's been many years and nothing. They disappeared with in a year or so of each other. Stacy's husband was a policeman. Lisa's husband was a private investigator (if I remember correctly).

Lacey Peterson was in California. She was pregnant, and her husband Scott Peterson was convicted. Big news story for ages. Scott was having an affair with a skinny blonde, whose name escapes me.

Oops. My bad. When I was typing Lacy, it seemed wrong. Yes both those women missing within 6 months of each other. At least Drew Peterson is in jail (but like the Natalie Halloway case, it took another human to die before the cops could nap the murderer). So my point is, ask Theresa where these 2 mothers are.

Teresa is not a psychic, she is a medium. She supposedly speaks to the dead, doesn't tell the future. IF she is speaking or seeing people that have passed, I am sorry to say, that I don't believe those people are in heaven. The Bible says believers that are absent from the body (died) are present with the Lord. It says nothing about them wondering around being seen by mediums. If she really is seeing these people that have passed on, sorry to say, they aren't in heaven. This is my opinion.

Of course she's real. I just love her and her funny normal family. I wish I could afford a reading with her - I'd get one in a minute. But I don't really need a medium to know that my loved ones are around me. There are all kinds of signs if you are open to them.

I knew, that you knew. I didn't remember it was within 6 months of each other. I always wondered if those husbands helped each other.

I think Drew killed Stacy after she talked to her minister. I believe she told him of the death of Kathleen Salvio (sp?) wife #3 and Drew said he could make a death look like an accident.

I would love if Theresa could find out where they are.

Glad to have someone agree, Bluegrassbaby, Biblical thinking isn't popular. Our pastor tells us to steer clear of these type things....they are not of God, but from the "other" side. People want to find comfort in these type things. It really is sad. If they know that their loved ones were saved before passing, that could be their TRUE comfort.

I seldom express my opinion on this topic because it seems to be an unpopular one here on previous threads. I have pretty strong feelings about those who claim to be psychics and mediums for several reasons, one of which involves my religious beliefs. I realize it's personal and will vary greatly from one person to another. I would recommend anyone interested in some of the "tricks of the trade" might do some internet searches on the methods used.

There have been several exposés. I watched a couple of those (and a video in which it's shown exactly what Theresa Caputo does and how she does it, just like other magic acts).

You'll notice, the performance "medium" never tells anyone anything negative about their loved ones who passed. Well, anyone can do that. Also, if you watch carefully in an unedited or live performance you'll see people actually do give away cues and leads for the performer to pick up and expand upon. They get caught up in the moment, the emotions flood through them, and they see what they want to see.

Mind you, I do believe individuals possess personal, unexplainable sensitivities to their own loved ones who have passed on. I think all of us want to believe in psychics and mediums and that's a powerful incentive to overlook their sleight-of-hand. Believe me, I do understand that.

It's wonderful for someone to be comforted. We need that in our grief and it's important. And I have no problem with magicians who are honest and tell us we're paying for magic and sleight-of-hand. But I do have a problem with those who don't explain it's not real and it’s all nothing but paid entertainment.

jmo, ymmv. I genuinely don't wish to judge anyone for their differing opinions, nor do I want to tell others what to believe. I'm only offering my thoughts on the topic.

I would also love to have a reading with her. I do believe she has some sort of an ability to sense others presence. The people she is reading for are strangers so....how would she know such things as that the late aunt's jewelry box key is hidden in a old vase or that the son in law's late mother always had angel objects around?? (BTW- I made those scenarios up!!) I am constantly surprised that Theresa does come up with correct info about the deceased that she really could not have known beforehand!! The reading does seem to bring such peace and comfort to the people!

I think she's a charlatan. I think it's unforgivable and evil that she bilks grieving people out of hundreds of dollars for a reading. To me, it's especially heinous when it's heartbroken parents who've lost a child. To charge them the prices she does, she should rot.
