I read that early and started crying. So young. I feel so bad for his wife and family. He was my favorite singer that year and I couldn't believe it when he was sent home. I went to that Idol tour and met him. He was the nicest guy. Also, he was just going to record new music (I still follow my favorite Idols over the years via the net). So sad.

I saw that story last night. How sad. Tragic. All from a blood clot in a twisted or fractured ankle.

My family, kids AND husband, still give me grief over my fractured ankle from a couple of years ago. I guess I was a real inconvenience to them during my recovery. Not like I broke it on purpose. Worst 3 months of my life. And the swelling took forever to go down so I can see how one could get a blood clot with all the veins and then the swelling make it even worse and in his case deadly. Very sad. And so young.

so very sad. He was so talented and so lovely. Blood clots are a very serious situation. They can happen even without injury. Everyone should be up on the effects of a blood clots to know the symptoms even if you have not had surgery or injury.

The story I read said there was no injury. The clot just formed by itself.

Last December I had stomach pains for about three days. Finally went to the ER and was told I had a blood clot on my SPLEEN. I am so happy I went because every doctor I saw asked ""How does anyone get a blood clot on their spleen"" They are still trying to figure this out.

This is very sad and it really makes me stop and pause.

I personally knew 2 people who died last year from a blood clot. One was a 38 year old mom. Her 5 year old daughter found her on the bathroom floor.

Another was a 54 year old guy I've known since I was a child.

Very scary.
