Love Watching Mike Rowe

His show, Dirty Jobs, is often hysterical. Just watched him at an ostrich farm and DH and I both laughed our heads off. Glad he's not wasting away as a tv salesman. He's on almost every day with multiple shows on one of our channels. A fun show to watch!

My 14 year old son got me hooked on this show. He is really funny....and handsome. I remember when he was on an entertainment news show (PM magazine type of thing) in the SF bay area. Also there are some hilarious youtube videos of him from the q....

He's no longer making those shows on Discovery. He has a new series coming up on CNN this fall called ""Somebody's Gotta Do It.""

I can't stand to watch some of those episodes; they're just too nasty. Others are OK. I recently saw one where he went up to service one of those giant windmills. I always wondered what was at the top of those things. Now I know.

I'm a Mike Rowe fan, too. He has a lot going for him as well as a great work ethic. He filmed a DJ episode about 20 minutes from my house a few years ago. I didn't know until after the fact or I would have been out there to try and shake a hand.

My family loves Dirty Jobs and Mike Rowe too. He is a great writer -- his facebook page is always full of stories that are hysterical! I hope that someday he writes a book.

Mike is a home town guy for me, born and raised here in the Baltimore area. went to high school with a couple of my coworkers. Also an opera singer!!!

reslly like the show, but think he referrs too much to the word "p@@ or p@@p",,,think it gets too cutsie. Other than that, I truly do like the show.

Love Watching Mike Rowe

I don't even have to watch him. I like listening to him because he has the same philosophy on life that my mother taught me back in the 1940's. If you want something get off your butt and work for it, even if you have to sweat and get dirty. His beliefs are that there are getting to be fewer and fewer pulling the wagon and more and more taking the free ride.

I'm a fan. I don't watch "Dirty Jobs" on a regular basis, but when I happen to tune in he is always entertaining. Love his commercial with his mom for the paper towels. He is also the voice on "The Deadliest Catch" which is a good watch. He's an entertaining guy with a great sense of humor.

I just love him. He certainly is easy on the eyes, no doubt of that. Yum. I remember him on QVC (or whatever it was called back then) many years ago too.

He does have a wonderful speaking voice and is so funny. I remember one time he was sitting in a mud bath on DJ for some reason and said "I've got mud in places.....a man shouldn't have mud." LOL, I thought that was so cute and funny.

He is a really good singer as well, just a beautiful singing voice.

A multi-talented hunk of a man.

...he also believes there is dignity is all work and every worker needs to be appreciated.

He was on Huckabee a few months ago promoting his plans for high school kids. His philosophy is that not every kid is college material nor may they have the funds or interest in college. He says the world needs plumbers, electricians, etc. and schools should develop these programs.

I graduated h.s. in 1971 and we had work programs for those who could not or did not want to attend college. You went to school a half day and the rest of the day you worked and got your credits. This was for juniors and seniors.

I don't know what high schools do these days.

Union apprenticeships are an alternative to college where a young person can learn one of the trades and lead to journey status.

Absolutely! However, here in Chicago, a young person needs to have someone on the job speak for them to get into an apprenticeship plan. I have a friend who has been an electrician for years. My cousin's son wanted to get into the program and tried to do it on his own. He had excellent test scores and 3 years of college with math being his major. Once my friend called the union representative, the kid got in. Union programs are quite tricky here in the Chicagoland area. It may be different in other states.

Unions are a very controversial topic in the state of Illinois. Especially the teachers union.
