Prayers needed

The QB at my high school was in a ATV accident. His name is Jaylend Ratliffe. He was airlifted to a hospital in Charlotte. He had surgery late last night to relief some pressure on his brain. He and his family are in need of prayers.

My pastor and his wife went to visit him yesterday. Jaylend had a bracelet on that read "I'm Second". The Pastor's wife asked who was "First", Jaylend pointed up to the ceiling to God.

Thanks for your prayers. I will try to keep you updated when I find out more news.

Barbara, have prayed for Jaylend and his loved ones. May the Lord grant him healing and no lasting effects from this accident. You are a good friend to send your pastor. Sounds like this young man is a believer in Jesus. Please let us know how he progresses.

Barbara, bless you for caring and asking so that we can all join you in prayer for Jaylend, his family and his physicians. May the Lord continue to strengthen and comfort this remarkable young man as he recovers from his injuries. Love the bracelet! As a mom (and grand mom) I know how frightening this must be for his parents, and all those who love Jaylend. Please do keep us posted on his progress.

Jaylend is a member of my church. We had "Family Night", last night. On the last Wed. of the month we all bring pot luck and have fellowship. We all held hands and prayed for Jaylend last night. He is a super nice guy who loves the Lord. If you would, please add Jaylend Ratliffe to your church's prayer list. Thanks so much.

Beautiful! What a wonderful ministry you are all graced to be a part of. Our congregation will be praying for Jaylend, too. Going to phone it in with another couple of prayer requests right now. Lots of believers here on these forums---I'm sure many are lifting him up in prayer right now.

Aw, such a shame and I do hope the surgery worked to relieve the brain swelling. I'll remember Jaylend and family in my daily prayers. Hope we hear good news from you soon on his recovery.

Yes I will be praying and for this I know how to pray. A great site for the family to visit is www.tbiguide.com. This doctor is fabulous and he will help the family and friends understand what is going on with his brain..........praying for total healing here on earth........I know the Savior has helped me so much. I never thought I would be doing this good this year with my brain.........its been 11 years but I am good at this time with my brain..........less stress has been wonderful...........I hate those kind of vehicles for fun and I am sure they were not wearing a helmet. 50,000 people die each year but it seems he had an open head injury which is better than a closed head injury. I had a closed head injury and so the healing process is so much slower. I won't stop praying until he receives his victory but please keep us posted. Praying for his family also.

That is a good sign.............I did not know anyone or what state I lived in and the list went on to not really knowing anything even how to tie my shoes or what a fork was but the Savior has done a remarkable job on me and he will this man too.

UPDATE: They had to do another surgery last night, he is now in an induced coma, critical condition. Jaylend belongs to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at the high school. They all met at the football field last night for Prayer for Jaylend.

Please place him on your church prayer list for healing.

I will keep you updated.

What a joy to hear of such a Godly young man but so sad to hear about what happened to him. You can be sure that there will be prayers going up for precious Jayland.and his family. .
