Used Shoes...Do you Ever Buy Them?

There are some websites that are selling very expensive designer shoes that have been worn. They are selling for big bucks.

I would never wear used shoes, and I don't care if they're Manolos or Louboutins. Even rich people can have smelly feet and fungus

Would you wear them if the price was right?

No, I personally would not, but that is just me. I don't know why, but I have never wanted to wear used anything. I was not raised with a lot of money, but did have my own things. I'm somewhat of a confirmed germaphobe.

If you feel above wearing gently worn clothing we should just do away with salvation army, goodwill and thrift stores. do you look down on people who have buy from these places, who have to wear smelly fungus ridden hand me downs. you can feel the love for the struggling people.

You're kidding, right? Where did I say anything about used clothing? I said SHOES because I don't like the thought of wearing used shoes. CLothing can be washed or dry-cleaned, shoes cannot.

I don't know why I'm explaining this to you. You obviously didn't read what I said, or didn't want to. You added your own spin to it and went to town. Have fun.

I don't think I would ever have a reason to buy used shoes, but I would wear them if it was a shoe I would wear socks or hose with. Maybe not commando.

Well, I've gone bowling, rollerskating, and done other sports where I didn't own my own shoes for that sport,, and I rented suitable ones that were on site. I wore my own socks with them, and never had a problem.

While I understand the allure for some to have pricey shoes I'm not into them.

For me, everyone walks differently and their shoes wear differently. My feet are awful to fit and finding something comfy is a must.

I do understand the need to shop thrift stores so for those who donate items with life left in them it's a blessing to others.

Nope, I wouldn't buy someone's used la la froo froo shoes. Shoes mold to your feet so hand me downs are a problem. The bacteria problem isn't something I want to even contemplate.

Clothing is a different story. There was a period in my life where money was an issue and I did shop in thrift stores.-----My great uncle wrote a book "good taste costs no more". It is true.

I really don't think Sunala has an uppity attitude, she's just stating she would never wear worn shoes because of the germs & bacteria. I have purchased from goodwill many times for myself & my boys when times were tight as a single mom, however I purchased new shoes for all of us at discount shoe stores like Payless. Used Clothes can be washed, shoes not so much!

Me too but the thought of wearing someone else's high heels or boots does sound nauseating.

NO! I shop thrift shops alot, but will not even look at someone elses shoes. Clothing I don't mind, they wash,lol....not shoes! & as another poster said, I am not into shoes either.

I always have a garage sale over Memorial Day weekend. I've sold many used shoes! In fact, the shoes are always the first to go! My dh has sold many of his used shoes also! I would never buy used shoes but looks like I'm in the minority.
