I posted in Food...but wanted to share with my VP friends...

A local candy company was hired to produce Paula Deens new product - chocolate butter...

I just don't see a need arising that I would have a use for chocolate butter but good luck to her, I am sure she will do well.

It seems to me that her new advisors are playing to her strengths - ooey, gooey desserts and high calorie foods.

I don't get it. Is it flavored butter, or just chocolate? What would you use flavored butter for?

I tried to search some info on it but couldn't find any.

I think it's chocolate (high quality) packaged to look like butter sticks - since that's one of her favorite food groups.

Landies Candies has a website that is featuring this new creation right now.

They just presented their chocolate pretzels on ITKWD. It's a product they make under their own label.

I don't get it either. Trying to think of what it could be used for. Toast for Kids??? Definitely no a healthy option. Hmm.....

the labeling is a bit horrifying - butter and chocolate? unless it does have a lot of butter in it. Which it might well have.

So, it is just a chocolate bar? The lines on the side of the packaging for tablespoon measuring threw me off. My bad.

I thought it was flavored butter. It could be used primarily for baking to intensify the chocolate flavor. Use it for fudge, other candies, cookies. No bake chocolate/peanut butter oatmeal cookies-now that would be good!

This from the Landies Candies website:
