It just never ends.

A couple of years ago I had surgery to correct a bunion. The surgery went as it should and all was well for a while.

Then my big toe slid off the bone again and I had a 2nd surgery. It was more complicated and the bones that were supposed to grow back together never did. It's not uncommon and not the end of the world but...

And now the 2nd bunion repair has failed...and my big toe is starting to impinge on the 2nd toe.

This time I decided that ignoring it wouldn't make it go away so I got myself to my podiatrist a few days ago. That's when we discovered that the second repair has failed.

Surgery is NOT an option for me; I don't know if it would be feasible and my doc didn't even bring up the possibility since I've already told him I don't want it. There are some options--foot exercises and a brace--but that darned foot just won't ever be 100% . The one good thing about this is that I caught it early on before it got really bad.

I wish my body would behave itself and stop giving me trouble; leave me alone, will ya????
