This story cracked me up because there is one of those Facebook memes that goes around that shows some girl saying ""well the house is destroyed but I got the spider!""

Yikes! I'm freaked out by spiders but I never resorted to using fire.

The fire department spokesman in the article is a master of the understatement:

"I don't want to encourage people to do this, but that's what he did... There are safer, more effective ways to kill spider than using fire," Moore said. "Fire is not the method to use to kill a spider." As for the spider, Moore said: "I'm pretty sure the spider did not survive this fire."

Yeah, I laugh so hard at those spider ones because I am phobic about spiders and so they crack me up. I enjoyed your description of the "master of karate" so true!!!

I saw one recently ....let me see if I can describe it. There is this ugly little spider sort of huddling in a corner and he is "saying" "...hello...I...am sitting here in your house...I hope you don't mind....I will...be no trouble....and..perhaps.....OUCH! OH YOU (FEMALE DOG)! dID YOU JUST SPRAY ME WITH PLEDGE?????
