Do You Salt Your Watermelon?

I do this occasionally (DH, no...kids, no...), and noticed others doing so during our 4th of July gathering. I never salted watermelon until a few years ago, and it's very good--just a little really does make it taste even sweeter than it already is.

i dont care for watermelon, but one of my daughters does it all the time with watermelon and blackberries.

I wonder if it's a regional thing. Growing up in Texas, we salted our watermelon. But I've found fewer people do that here in California. I stopped salting mine many years ago because it's almost as good without.

My mother always did and I picked up the habit from her. I use the tiniest bit though.

Yes- I've always salted watermelon. It's one of the few things I add salt to.
