My First Weird Amazon Mix-up

I just received a washing machine leveler and a small ceramic heater.

I didn't order either product. It hasn't shown up on the CC I always use for amazon purchases - a Chase Amazon card.

Has anyone else every gotten anything out of left field?

My name is on the label.

Is there a phone # to call? There was no number on the invoices in the package.

With all the things I've ordered over the years from them I have had a couple issues, but they always fixed them promptly. Have never gotten something that I did not order from them.

They have a Customer Service you can call. I usually find it on their website where it says "contact us". If you choose "by phone" you put in your phone number and they call right after you hang up the phone unless you choose the "later" option.

I use that tool in the 'contact us' area where they call you immediately. It works perfectly. Furthermore, they will take good care of you.

I think the last time I got something that was not mine was many years ago and they sent out the right items mucho pronto. IIRC, it did have somebody else's invoice inside so they sent me a return label and also got that person's order re-sent out right away.

The bummer is that they don't always have an invoice inside the boxes anymore so if you get the wrong order they might not be able to identify to whom it should have gone.

No, I haven't. I would check my Amazon account online and see if it's listed in your recent orders. Then I would call them. Go to "help" on their home page and then "contact". There are steps to go through to tell them what it's about and then they give you the option of being contacted by phone or by email.

Washing machine leveler....normally I don't look @ posters names, but if I'm not mistaken, didn't you just get a new washer? (Insert Twilight Zone theme song). It's almost as if they knew!! Intuitive.

I used the "contact us" link at the bottom of the homepage over the weekend and they got back to me less than 24 hours later. I didn't like the answer I got, but they did get back to me quickly.

Yes...isn't that weird? But they leveled my washer...the gizmos are right on the machine.

But a heater too? It's 80 degrees and humid!!!

I asked my son if he got them as wedding presents for anyone. They aren't showing up on his list of ordered items either!

Not connected but I had a Zappos order due for delivery today. I got an email saying there was a huge goof that effected 13,000 customers and my order would be delivered tomorrow. I guess with all the orders these big companies ship, there are bound to be mess ups.

DD received an empty box once! After contacting them she got the correct order the next day.

I've been with Amazon for the last 9 years, and haven't had a mix-up. But it could happen with any company, especially one who does such an enormous volume of deliveries like they do.

At the top of every page is the "Help" link. I prefer to email them, but you can also call for an immediate call back or live-chat them. They've been rated #1 in customer for many years, and deservedly so.

Yes. We didn't order it, we didn't pay for it.

They had Fed-Ex come and take the package back.

They didn't explain how my name got on the package though!
