What channel Lila? I haven't found it for a few years. Once A&E stopped broadcasting one of the "big three" had a very short segment but not the full concert but even that stopped.

It was real pleasure watching tonight even if they did have to cut the live program short.

i can find ""a capitol fourth"" in scheduled for pbs tomorrow. but no boston pops.

Lila, I did watch it online and will probably watch it again. I was hoping it had returned to TV. When you said "they do" (to momof4) were you referring to local TV?

As for being on TV, I know that the concert was broadcast on a local Boston TV station (WBZ, the CBS affiliate), but I don't think it was broadcast nationally, other than online. When only part of the concert was broadcast nationally in past years (usually the part with the big name performers), WBZ would broadcast the first part of the concert that was "just" the Pops and perhaps some local performers. For me, watching the Pops is a tradition, so I'm glad that there was a live stream available since I no longer live where I can get WBZ.

I want to that you again Merryweather5 for posting the link and alerting us to the fact it was available. I really enjoyed watching. It was a tradition for me too. I have aspirations of going to Boston and the concert on July 4, 2076.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, too! I would love someday to see it in person, or to watch the fireworks from a boat on the Charles. Either sounds like great fun.

Years ago the entire concert was on A&E.

Each year we seem to experience losses of one sort or another. For me, the loss of this concert is huge. It's always been in our calendar and I will misss it. And, no, I'm not going to watch it on my small laptop. It belongs on TV.

Thanks for clearing up the confusion about TV coverage. I too looked for it this year and could not find the listing on my tv schedule. Over the years the Boston Pops concert was always my favorite. I am sad that it wasn't scheduled this year.
