Do You Agree with Joan Rivers on This? I Do!

Joan says that Chelsea Handler won't speak with her since she corrected her. Chelsea said she was the first female comic to host a late night show - Joan reminded her she used to fill in for Johnny Carson.

Chelsea was never going to come back to E! She got the gig in the first place because she was the live-in GF of the network president...they broke up several years ago. Her ratings were down, in fact I never really heard her name mentioned lately re: late night shows and the new hosts.

They're both right. Joan did host, but Chelsea had her own show and Joan didn't. Other than that, I can't think of a single thing in CH's favor. I just don't appreciate her.

There's a difference between being a host and a fill in just like there's a difference between a teacher and a substitute teacher. Although Joan was filling in for Johnny, that wasn't her show. I thought that Chelsea was referring to being a full time host for her own show. I don't see anything here to create a feud.

Google time! Joan did have her own show on Fox in 1986, which infuriated Carson. The show did not last long. But she was the first woman, she is right about that.

Chelsea started it.

Joan DID have her own show after she filled in for Johnny.

My son thinks Chelsea is a riot, but he said he would NEVER date a woman like her!!!

Yes I did, thanks for the correct info. So far, Handler leaves me with the impression of being a 'one-trick pony'. The shtick of being an aging 'party girl' has grown stale, and apparently the viewers agree. There is probably still a select audience for her stand-up dates and books.

My oops - I bet she was on that show the same months my mom was dying. I was almost unaware of TV during her final months and no, I didn't Google. Your research makes me feel good- it means Joan was really right, and since I can't stand Handler, that's all good!

Joan is right and did not get her first job by sleeping with the boss. I am not a fan of CH at all.

I always thought it was strange that the two were friends also. It is very telling who a persons friends are. I wonder if they are still close or it was just a phase.

I think JR is pretty crude a lot of the time, but most of what she says is funny. I cannot stand CH. She isn't funny, and she's rude and nasty. I've watched about 20 minutes total of her show, and it was like torture. She's not even witty, IMO.

Does Chelsea Handler ever do anything other than late night TV? I've only heard of her because she occasionally gets in the news, like this. I've never seen her actually do anything on TV because I don't watch late shows.

She has written some raunchy books and does stand up.

I don't really 'know' Chelsea to comment on her. I wouldn't know if she is crude as many said here....

I can't imagine anyone thinking she's worse than Joan. Joan is the worst. Used to really like her. No more.

Johnny kicked her to the curb. I would too.
