'Handsome' felon's mugshot scores agent, possible modeling contracts

Hopefully he will use this opportunity to turn his life around.

From the LA Times:

The man whose Stockton police mug shot went viral, earning him a moniker as the "handsome felon," could have a lucrative future waiting for him after his latest legal woes are over.

Jeremy Meeks, 30, has joined the ranks of "Teen Mom" star Farrah Abraham, Donald Sterling's former companion V. Stiviano and "Octomom" Nadya Suleman as clients represented by Hollywood agent Gina Rodriguez, who told ABC News she thinks the man known as "handsome felon" can use those good looks to earn between $3,000 and $100,000 a month as a model.

"Jeremy has an amazing look and has received international attention, which I feel can only help him flourish in the entertainment industry," Rodriguez told ABC.

Meeks was charged last month with illegally possessing a firearm, as well as other gun- and gang-related charges. He was also accused of violating his parole, prosecutors said.

Not long after his photo went up on the site, someone created a fan page on Facebook for Meeks, which received tens of thousands of "likes" and hundreds of comments from people all over the world swooning over his chiseled looks and piercing eyes.

"I believe this can be a positive change for Jeremy and his family," Rodriguez said.

Meeks, however, remains in custody in lieu of $1.1-million bail.

His mother has started a gofundme site to help fund his legal defense, claiming on the sitethat Meeks' tattoos -- such as a “crip” on his right forearm and a teardrop under his left eye -- have led to negative stereotypes.

For his part, Meeks said he's done things in his past that he should not have, but that he's not a hardened criminal.

“I just want them to know that this is really not like me, I’m not some kingpin,” he said in an interview with KXTV in Sacramento.

He told the news station that he spent years in prison for grand theft and that the teardrop tattoo on his cheekbone was for doing some things in his past that he is not proud of.

not necessarily. it can also mean that you lost someone or are part of a certain gang. usually the crips.

Heard he has a long felony record. That said I wonder if he by chance lives in Arizona and my have a visit with Sheriff Joe? If so wonder exactly what he might be modeling while serving his time in a prison.

Must say he is a nice looking guy. Too bad good looks don't always equal someone knowing right from wrong and spends a lot of time acting on the wrong part.

I read a later article that said his new manager was receiving threats from gang members. I never saw an update though.

Unbelievable. I read some of the comments that were made on a site where his mug shot was posted. People are out of their gourds.

I don't even think he's that cute but certainly his criminal history would be a deal breaker.

I kind of have a problem with this guy suddenly becoming a ""model.""

He's a criminal. There are so many people who are trying to make an honest buck and just trying to get ahead in this world.

He definitely has the type of face for a male model - intense eyes, chiseled jaw. But what a waste of all that. I don't believe if he got out of prison that he would be a changed man.

This is not a very nice guy ladies, he has a rap sheet a mile long. He is in jail on a 1 million dollar no cash bond, that means he has no bond basically. I saw a short spot on tv that showed 3 of his past mug shots, he appears to be a very very light skinned African Amer. man with a 'fro and BROWN eyes. It seems this mug shot with the blue eyes is the one that is photo shopped. He was not handsome in his other photos, he looked really rough in all 3. I thought he looked scarey.

Does anyone know what he is being charged with? I dont think I ever heard that part, its always about how handsome this guy (thug) is.

I'm not so sure that this guy has a lucrative future. His manager also represents V. Stiviano, Farrah Abraham, and Nadia Sulemon. Maybe he could make an 'intimate' video with Ms. Abraham?

I don't find him in the least bit attractive. CNN just posted other photos of him and he looks nothing like his mug. Sometimes people just take a good photo.

Anytime a fluke occasion or deliberate effort pulls someone up out of a life of crime and incarceration, it's a good thing. He obviously has a debt to pay, somehow. If he can do it by being productive and changing his life around, good for him.

A photographic face may be his ticket to ride but it's still only a ticket. If he is incorrigible, the world will know soon enough. We must reintegrate prisoners who have a chance to live peaceably -- the prison system is our national shame but it's paying dividends to private investors -- what a mess!

his mom has a facebook page and has posted many pics of him and his eyes are not brown - they are more of a grey blue. it's not photo shopped. he has an older brother that looks so much like him and he has the same grey blue eyes.

i think that all of this attention coming to him has a reason. someone has put this in motion for a reason - either for him or other people. he is not the first good looking man to be sent to prison so it's not like it has never happened.
