Change paint colors

How often do you change interior paint colors? I have my colors 5 years now and actually still like them but am thinking of making a change.

I love white walls, except in the kitchen.........too much glare there with the bright sun, the windows, and the West exposure. White stays fresh and bright for many more years, in our house.

p.s. Every house and person is different. Depends on the natural lighting, etc.

I generally don't change a paint color withou changing something else too. Like a new piece of furniture, for example.

Every 10 years or so. Sometimes because it needs it, sometimes because I am redoing the entire room.

change - never. freshen up - occasionally.

i love neutral colors and all of my walls are various shades of one color. it's my base color. even when i change the furniture in the room i never have to/want to wonder ""if it will go with"" the walls and will i need to repaint to make it work. one color i custom mixed myself with leftover paint - it was for the fireplace. i painted it a wee bit darker than the two walls on each side to make it ""pop out"" from them a bit.

It depends. I have finally found my holy grail of paint colors, so I'm sticking with them for a while.

I bought my house 4 years ago and I've painted the kitchen 4 times.

I've painted the other rooms twice.

I think I'm satisfied for now..... for another year or so probably.

Last time I painted was 2006. I am ready. Been looking into greys for main entry way and parlor.

I have painted our home about every 10 years. The home we are in now was built 4 years ago and still has the paint the builder did. We have freshened it up but basically it is still the same paint. I would like to paint soon but my DH is extremely resistant to the idea. I love the color so I would paint it the same color but use a washable paint as what is up now can not be washed. I like having one color all through the house - right now it is beige.

I love the colors in all my rooms I wouldn't change the colors, and if I moved, I would do the same colors in all the rooms of the new place. However, I did have a painter re paint all of the walls a few years ago using same colors. I guess it was about 10 years since last pained, and it was nice to have a fresh feeling again. But...I did originally paint my living room 4 times, in a matter of weeks, before finding the right shade of sage to my liking. This ended up being a custom color, working with Home Depot to change things in the mix of paint each time. The mix is printed on the label on the cover of the paint can, so it was easy to have Home Depot create the same color when I re painted this time.

When I was in my Tuscany period I love the burgundies and gold on my walls. Later this year I am repainting the walls cottage cream and accent walls of red and turquoise.

Try B.Moore's beach glass for that west facing kitchen. It'll make all the difference in the world. Add bamboo shades for the summer, white tab curtains. Sooooo relaxing.

How do I know this? I did it. I'm destined to forever have a west facing kitchen so I figured it out.

Go for it! Painting a room a different color is the cheapest form of redecorating.
