those Tena commercials are awful....but so are many many others...they all seem to be getting louder and louder....

I don't think I've ever seen a commercial featuring a dog or a cat, that I didn't like. They could do commercials with ferrets, baby polar bears or capybaras and I'd be happy.

I adored that one where the guy was training guinea pigs to row.

Can't stand most commercials. I've started taping most shows I like just so I can fast forward thru them. Bonnie, I love Judge Judy too, tho she does seem a little crankier lately.

Yes, we were watching Law & Order shows on Sundance, I think, and every time the commercials came on, the sound was literally blasting so we had to turn the sound way down. Then when the show came back, we couldn't hear it anymore, so back up the sound would go.

Up and down, up and down, up and down. Ugh.

I thought networks were not allowed to do that anymore as far as turning up the sound on commercials. How can they even do that anyway? So annoying.

You haven't seen anything until you've seen the Summer's Eve (I can't believe women are still falling for their products) ""Hail to the V"" commercial. Yup. The ""V"" stands for that.

UGH...the latest one in our area is for Premarin "V" Cream - the one "Worth Talking About."

SOOOOO tired and irritated by this one - and many other commercials about feminine or s*xual performance meds. They always run during the dinner hours here, and I really really dislike that!

That's for Poise. Same thing, different brand.

Our world of tv sure has changed over the years. In the old days, tv couples never shared the same bed, the word "pregnant" was never used, & Jeannie's belly button couldn't show.

The explanation I got several years ago from a friend who works in local tv: the sounds can be louder because the commercial & the tv program are filmed in different studios, so there can be all kinds of variables during the recording process.

My husband always laughs at the one where the guy takes a shower with that by mistake and then spends the rest of the day doing "manly" things to prove he is still a man, LOL.

Oh, I see. That makes sense, I guess, but gosh, the difference in the audio was huge! Too bad there is not a standard audio level for TV programming since a TV does have volume controls, but perhaps that is not practical with so many studios, literally thousands no doubt, producing video/film.

On English TV, we had a show where two (straight, bachelor) men shared an apartment and a bed. Back in the 1960s/70s, we never gave it a second thought. Apparently one of the guys was uncomfortable with it, and insisted on doing "manly" things like smoking a pipe in bed to make sure the audience didn't think it (or he) was "like that". It would never happen now, and I think it was charming that it was considered perfectly OK back then.
