Question Regarding a Book with the Word "Lace" in the Title

Someone highly recommended a book to me today. I was going to write it down, but I thought I'd remember. BIG mistake

I know the word "Lace" was in the title, and the author's name sounded familiar to me, like I may have read one of her books. I thought it was on my list of books to read, but I searched it for the word "Lace" and it's not there.

I don't want to ask her because she only told me this morning and I've forgotten it already.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Has anyone read it? Honestly it doesn't sound that wonderful to me, but she said it's one of the best books she's read, and she's a big reader.

So, it will go on my ever-growing books to read list.

sunny, it was recommended on a thread here a couple years ago. The poster said it was her favorite book ever. I had read others by the author, which were more contemporary and liked them, so I searched for it.

Iron Lace is historical fiction or almost historical romance. I enjoyed it, and also the sequel. It reminded me of books I read ages ago when I was more into that genre. I think I recall you saying you don't care for anything described as a "saga". I honestly don't think it would be your cup of tea.

MrsSweetieBear, you have a great memory! I think my exact words were that I wouldn't read a book if the description called it a "sweeping saga." I hate sweeping sagas lol

Haha, too funny. How could I leave out the sweeping part? While I do enjoy them sometimes, I don't want a steady diet. Iron Lace could definitely be described as such.

MrsSweetieBear, that's correct; it can't be "sweeping." I took Iron Lace off my list. I'm pretty sure I won't care for it.

Welcome to my world. Did you see if Amazon, had "lace" in a title? Might be an avenue to explore, and if you can get on the web site of your local library and see if they have it. Will you remember it if you do hear/see it? There's me again!! LOL

hi qualitygal, as always, my book friends here on the board gave me the book I was looking for, which was Iron Lace. However, after reading the preview on amazon and listening to the readers here talking about it, I decided to pass on it, as it does not sound like my type of book.

I hope you'll read it and enjoy it!

Oh I saw that in the Library the other day but put it back on the shelf. Maybe I will go back and reread the summary on it.
