QVC's new sizing

I was just looking at a pair of Bob Mackie jeans - the click here size says that in a 3x they are a hip measurement of 55" - but if you click on the size chart they say a 3x hip is 57" - so how is a person supposed to get into pants that are 2" smaller than their body? The same applies for all sizes - I just used this size as an example.

Are they pants with spandex that will stretch? That would explain the difference.

I don't know the particular item you looked at, but I only saw one pair of Bob Mackie jeans.

The 3X had a hip measurement of 59".

I haven't heard anything about new sizing either...

Low hip measurement is 56", which falls right in the middle of 55-57 for a size 3X. They look like they have a lot of stretch to them. A lot of the reviews say they run big in the waist.

All of their sizes are all over the place these days, and they don't always show the size charts anymore. I am supposedly a small, but sometimes a small is a 34 hip and I am a 38, sometimes it's 41-1/2 and I have to buy an X Small. And sometimes it's the other way around.

I used to think it was just designer clothing that was sized differently, but it's now all QVC clothing also. If I always went by the size chart (which is always the same) half of whatever I bought would be the wrong size . . . and that has happened.

Pay attention to the click here measurements-- those are the actual garment measurements.

I think they have changed all their sizes again because they're planning on including numerical size 00 and 0. I know they already have the xxs but it's not the same as the numerical sizes. So, what this means since they oversize everything for vanity sizing, is they all get tweaked across the board. It's annoying because now my Qvc size doesn't fit me in most cases.

Maybe it's quality control, I've noticed a change. I'm sending two things back today because they're too big. Even when I order a smaller size, it seems too big. That's been true for all the pants I've ordered lately.

It's not easy finding pants in stores that I don't have to hem, and QVC always has a good selection of crop pants at this time of year. I just got my first Susan Graver and the fit is nothing like it looks in the photo. The legs are huge in the back. Is that a style or something?

I never understood sizing charts..lol. Someone explained to me you take the sizing measurements and add so many inches for material or something. All I know is I take one size LESS on QVC than in stores. Qs clothes tend to run big IMO.

And in the QVC glossary, this term should be defined!! High Point Shoulder is the highest part of the garment (from the shoulder).

Sweep of a garment is the lowest point of the garment at its edge.

Armhole height is important too for those who do not want the sides of their bras showing or any 'gapping' so its important to measure the height from top to bottom on a garment you wear.

Gapping is usually seen if you have bought too large a size.

I do wish on garment measurements especially dresses that a waist measurement is included on all dresses sold here. Your waist is usually about 16" (according to the click here charts) distance from your shoulder. Your hips are usually 8-9" below your waist (according ot the click here charts).

And it's not like they just changed the size, it's the overall way it's shaped. This will be the second pair of pants I've sent back because the back of the thighs billowed out. Another pair had the crotch way too low, halfway to my knees.

I'm finding that tees are billowing in the torso. So, it will fit in the shoulders, the bust and the hip but have too much volume in the center. I'm so fed up.

Makes you wonder why they even offer the size chart. I always go to the ""click here"" sizing to get the size that would fit me best.

I do believe that their QC is so off. I've ordered two of the same sweaters in the same size but different colors and they both fit me differently. You can't win with them.

The best way for me to figure out sizing is to measure a garment I like and compare it to the click here chart. Their sizes are all over the place sometimes.
