Anyone ever help someone move away?

It was really hard to help a love one prepare his resume for a job that will take him to a different city! ?? How does one stay supportive for him when you try to hide the tears and fears inside?

The economy continues to be so difficult. It seems that once a person has a job,the door of opportunity opens. Perhaps your loved one can return back home at some point or closer to home. In the mean time, you could stay in touch as much as possible. There is so much technology these days to accommodate this. My husband left me and our two sons to work eight hours away by car for two years. When things got better,he returned home. Good luck and God Bless........

You have to look at the future, why hold the other person back from making their way because you want them to stay.

I'm assuming this is your son? It's hard, no way around it, but realize that this is what you've helped to prepare him for. Even when they're grown and ready to leave, in our hearts we still see them as our babies and can't believe the time has gone by so incredibly fast. Be confident that you've taught him well and it's his time to sore. Of course your heart will hurt and you will miss seeing him every day, but this is the next step for him and the next chapter in your relationship. It's normal and right for him to leave. The visits become really great and enjoyable rather than the usual day to day matter of fact existence.

There's a song by an artist named Mark Harris called, "Find Your Wings". He wrote it for his kids when his first child was going off to college. It's definitely a tear-jerker, but the lyrics are very poignant.

Is he moving to Pluto? You have Skype, you have email, you have texting, you have Facebook and all manner of other social media outlets. It's not like years ago when we only had letters and the occasional phone call to keep connected. Of course you are going to miss him and worry; you are his mom. It's in your job description. But, in this oh so wonderful modern world that we live in, you can stay as connected to your son as if he lived down the street. You aren't sending you boy off into the unknown. He's moving to the next phase of his life and you will get to hear about all the wonderful things that are in store for him. And you have the holidays to look forward to.

People have their own destiny to fulfill. You're helping with a resume. No one has an offer, yet.

If someone means this much to you, make arrangements to see them. Or better yet, join them.
