lynbeechwood, my prayer is that she brings you lots of joy. It sounds like she has a very cute personality. I can just picture her washing the face of another pet. So cute. Please keep me updated on her progress, and I wish you and yours the very best.

Hi there- my new rescue came to me with whipworm- and has exposed my other two dogs to it. My vet have me liquid ivermectin 4 weeks ago- my two dogs stool samples were clear- my rescue still has whipworm. Now yesterday we started panacur liquid. Each dog had one dose. My 18 pound guy has been moping around all day. My 8 pound guy vomited today about 16 hours later. My rescue who has the worm has acted fine. What do I do? I'm afraid to give my other two more panacur--my vet is out on vacation. Any thoughts? Should I just treat my worm dog?

I've only had to use it on cats. I had to dose a litter of rescue kittens that were still nursing. IIRC it was 3 doses with a few days between each one. I think most animals don't like the taste and it and it can make them feel not great since it's killing the worms and then they have to eliminate them. Some animals vomit just due to stress.

I just now read about whip worm, and I would find out exactly how to handle this from a vet. Best to you, as I know this has been really a trying time. We got a kitten one time, and she had fleas. We got rid of them, but then soon discovered she had a tapeworm from the fleas. In the end, we got it all taken care of, and she lived 18 years.

Yes it has been a trying time! Thank you for responding to me. I will have had her for 6 weeks. I seem to get one problem controlled and a new one quickly pops up. She is so sweet and loving I just need to get a handle on the physical issues. I am at the vet weekly. Good news no more biting incidents - she has gained more than one pound- and loves giving kisses. Question- do any of you know good products for healing hot spots on the skin or yeast on their skin(I know it sounds repulsive) but she is white and it tinged her hair rust. My vet is a great guy but he is somewhat laid back in his approach -and I just want to get her healed!

I read just recently that adding a little olive oil to the food will help with allergy related itchy hot spots on a dog. There is a thread here about it, under Pet Lovers called Olive Oil, Who Knew.. If it involves yeast the vet should treat that. My very best again to you. You are very special to take this on, and I do hope things get better very soon.

Thanks I will look into the olive oil. I have been feeding them Greek plain yogurt and grain free food too. She is a special little dog- very loving and she is learning all of my little male toy poodles bad habits she has been helping my little shy toy poodle come out of his shell more- she cleans his face- and he just tolerates it! She acts like a little mommy to him! And he checks on her- so adorable! The vet have me a really thick ointment for her face but she keeps itching- so now she has a little purple come one her head.

I am very glad to read that she is fitting in with your other pets. Once you get all the kinks worked out, things should settle down. It sounds like she has never been cared for properly until now. She is certainly fortunate to have found you. Keep us updated please.

Thank you tissyanne! Sorry for all of the typos...yes I am thinking once she is physically healed I will then enroll her in a training class. I have been doing the basics with her such as sit and stay and her potty training is about 80% good! She is very quick to learn and is very food motivated! I honestly believe that if she hadn't been rescued at the time she did- nutritionally she would have starved! She was 6.6 pounds when I got her -- she is now 8.2. I'm not really sure if she is a toy poodle or a mini poodle-- But that's fine-- not important to me! I will keep you updated ! Thanks so much for your kindness .
