Do you watch live tv?

I record all my favorite shows. I cannot stand the many commercials they throw at us.

I am very spoiled by TiVo and OnDemand. I watch news live but that's about it anymore.

Unless it's a special event I don't think much tv is broadcast live.

I stream netflix or Amazon. I prefer that over recording.

I tape most everything, then half the time forget to FF the commercials.

We are behind the times...no DVR. So I either watch three shows at once changing the channels at commercials....or I miss some shows and catch them later. I imagine taping would be nice. I still have a VCR hooked up and VCR tapes......OMG! I am really out of touch with reality!

I never had TiVo, so maybe it's the exact same, but you do not even know how much you will love a DVR. Bite the bullet, woman.

We hardly ever watch live TV. Tivo is my friend. I just hate all the commercials. If we DO watch something live, I always mute the commercials!!

Can't even remember the last decade I watched a live show. Late '60's first VHS/VCR then moved on to SVHS-Hi-Fi Stereo VCR. One thing I stayed away from was a DVD Recorder as I couldn't justify getting one of them because their resolution and sound was no better than what I could get reproduced on my SVHS VCR recorders.

Now everything goes onto our 2tb hard drive on our Dish Network Hopper. I also have a backup 1 terabyte external hard drive hooked up to this Hopper. I can take shows from the Hopper and copy them onto this external hard drive and watch them on any computer or TV set that has a USB input on it.

Live TV with commercials? No thanks as I like seeing an hour show is about 37 minutes.

I don't watch a lot of tv, but always watch it as it airs. I need the commercial breaks for many reasons: going to the bathroom, getting a drink, moving the laundry into the dryer, emptying the dishwasher.

When people here talk about ads they see on tv, I never know what they're talking about, since I have other things to do when they come on.

That's the beauty of TiVo...pause it when you want, for as long as you want. If you get a phone call, just hit pause.

I sometimes forget, too. Of course, sometimes when I'm watching a live show, I'll try to FF.

And don't forget trying to FF with the phone and "answer" the remote. I hate when I have something on pause for a while, then when I return, I forget to FF. Then I can't switch to the next thing on time. Such problems lol

Tansy, I know...I do that when watching movies. But with network tv, I don't think there is anything that I can't miss for a few minutes for a phone call.

The only show of our main shows (not talking about news or while flipping channels and stop) we watch when its on is Vampire Diaries. Otherwise we DVR everything. I too hate commercials. Plus my DH goes to bed @ 9 and so we watch our shows the next night after dinner.
