Go California Chrome!!

I am not betting, but I am rooting for California Chrome to win the Belmont today!! A lot of folks at the track are betting him whether they think he's going to win or not. Everybody wants to see a Triple Crown Winner for the first time in decades!

I have it on now and am so anticipating this race!

how bitter that man is!

he said that california chrome had a target on his back and called some of the other horses/owners cowards for not racing in the other two races..... unbelievable!

I agree with one of Chrome's owners, the whole thing stinks, and the winner did get there by being the "coward." Fresh horses should never be allowed in a race of this level.

I agree 100% with Chrome's owner.

Only the 20 horses that qualified at Kentucky Derby should be eligible for Belmont.

As he said, the other horses have been running their hearts out for 5 weeks and a fresh horse comes in and wins.

Doesn't seem fair to me

But the Belmont is the most difficult track for a horse to win-- its a mile and a half and its longer than the Kentucky Derby or the Preakness tracks.

I was cheering for him. It's hard to win the Triple Crown. But, I'm always thankful when no horse was injured in these races.

i think that that is such bad sportsmanship!

it isnt like the winning horse was breaking the rules and some people are probably very concerned about protecting their horses......i dont think they should be forced to do more than they want their horses to do.

I'm disappointed too . . . in everything, I turned it off very quickly when it got so unsportsmanlike. I like to think of horse people as above such things. This wasn't boxing, his remarks should have been behind closed doors. I hope this lovely horse doesn't have to suffer for this now. He did win two big ones.

I'm hopelessly romantic I guess. It's all about money, just like everything else, and that's always disappointing.

Cowards?

Unless he was personally running on the track himself, he has no right to call a trainer a coward for not running in all 3 races.

Horses break down all the time and those 3 races are too close together for the way horses are bred now - for speed, not for stamina or endurance.

I just had my fingers crossed his horse didn't break down from the wear and tear in his 3 year old body.

What a donkey that man is!

I hope he cashes in and CC goes to stud. He was lucky he wasn't injured.

With his attitude, he just might continue racing him in an attempt to make more $$$$.

I was rooting for the horse. We were in a restaurant/sports bar when the race was run. I still like the horse and his story and who knows, maybe next year.

I totally agree!! Maybe they could space them out a little better.
