I've worked on tons of race cars over the years and I have never used duct tape for anything to do with cars or other fixtures. Found too many things that I thought worked better/were cheaper and some times were things I did not need to buy.

Put me down for a zero as I have never bought or used the stuff.

Lots of stuff. The last thing we ""mended"" with duct tape was the cover to our outdoor grill. DH has an old pair of garden shoes that need help. I wouldn't be surprised if he duct tapes them too. Never used it (yet) to hem a garment but there's still time.

I had to wear a bandage on my leg and couldn't get it wet. Through trial and error duct tape was my savior. I placed a sandwich bag over the area and duct taped it on!! Not one drop of water leaked through and it didn't hurt to peel it off. I highly recommend it for medical purposes.

Decades ago DH duct tape on a plastic ash tray in the car that was broken. He also put some on the handles of a pair of small garden clippers for a better grip, it was a disaster when they got hot in the sun and that sticky stuff was all over your hands. I pitched them years ago and now use that set of small and large ratcheting shears from Q. BTW they are fabulous. (M22345)

I have a patio door insert dog door. It's so old they no longer make flaps for it so I buy whatever is available and make a "hinge" from duct tape. It will last up to six months, then I re-do it. I just bought some with pretty flowers on it but can't figure out where to use it. Any ideas?

the 'duct tape' that we buy in stores should never be used to seal the seams in duct work, and should be professionally replaced with the proper stuff before it fails, if you do have it. .

no, i don't know why they call it duct tape when it is no good for ducts, but if your repairman tries to use it, kick him to the curb.

otherwise, i can't think of much else we haven't used duct tape on, especially since it comes in colors. but as lakk said, extreme heat can make it get sticky/gooey and good luck cleaning that up.

john, if you had it in the house, i bet you would find something to use it for, it is just one of those go to items for home and garden and garage. when wrapped around,it sticks well to itself and is very strong.

when needed, a good marker will write on it nicely, we have rolls everywhere !

when teenaged dd crunched in her passenger door, the silver duct tape covered/sealed that up for a long time, and it matched her car.

Duct tape is good to use on the feet to prevent blisters. You know how sometimes new shoes are stiff and rub on the back of the heel? If you think this will occur, cut a piece of duct tape to size and apply it to your skin. It is thin so it's not bulky, and very sticky so it stays on better than a bandaid. Do not apply it to blisters or cuts as it will pull the injured skin off.

To get rid of warts. It works wonders.

If duct tape can't fix something nothing will!!!
