I never click on suspicious email..this time it got me...

I was looking at my email and noticed a message that said USPS could not make attempted delivery on the 20th...click on link to print label to go to nearest post office to pick it up. So me panicking thinking it is one of the many packages I have coming, was one of those. So like a dummy I clicked on it. When I clicked on it, there was like the file link that popped up and I tried clicking on it and nothing happened. I noticed my Norton Internet Security popped up and said it blocked a virus trying to enter my computer. For some reason I read that and ignored it and tried opening it up again and then the Norton Virus Protection popped up again saying it stopped a virus from accessing my computer. Then it hit me...you idiot it is SPAM! Do you think my computer is okay...if Norton let me know it stopped the virus...think it is okay. I am not getting any weird pop ups or anything like that. Thanks!

Norton protected your computer.

I received that email too but I was immediately suspicious-the date was a Sunday. We don't have Sunday deliveries.

I got that post office e-mail too. I didn't click on it because the package that I was waiting for had already been delivered.

Oh thank God you guys didn't click on it...I feel like an idiot. I never click on anything but somehow I believed this one Thank God I have the Norton Protection.

Probably you are fine. But if you want to be sure - download Malwarebytes. It is free and it is what restored my laptop after I clicked on a link I shouldn't have.

Run a full scan and let it delete whatever bad things it finds.

The Post Office doesn't know my email address so that would tip me off I think. Also why would you need to print a label to get a package? I hate sneaky spam.

My husband got the same one with a "deliver date" of the 15th. Coincidentally, he had just received a notice of a pkg. from Amazon, which was "UNdeliverable", so he was in a very vulnerable state of mind. He said to tell you and others out there, that if you have even the slightest misgivings about an e-mail, always check the routing details to see its point of origin. The point of origin should correspond with whom the e-mail says it's from.

In his case, the e-mail routing details did not show USPS as the point of origin and he deleted it before clicking on the link.

Oh yeah. I get those all the time. Fake UPS Fake US Mail Fake FedEX. Also fake FBI.

I NEVER EVER click on anything. Even if it looks legit. I don't even click on links that I am sure are coming from my own bank. I always go to their website on my own.

I have my spam filter set up to grab all that junk. Now and then I open spam to see what's in there and often get those stupid notices from USPS, fedex, etc.

I was told by my DH YEARS ago to NEVER open them and I never have.

Between yesterday and today I have received about 40 e-mails from unknowns......each was reported as junk.......Only open e-mails I know who they are from. And those are friends.....

One of my friends got an email with the subject Notice To Appear. When she clicked on it, the same message as above appeared her norton kicked in and blocked it. This was malware and contained a Trojan horse. She had to change her email password and get rid of the viruses one by one. She told me she clicked on it a few times because she was worried that she was really getting a summons.

I have been getting 5-10 "notice to appear" spams weekly for a couple of months at least, it is a very popular one... Sometimes there will be 3 or 4 right in a row!!!!!

I've never seen one of my email addresses printed on a shipping label, so I would wonder, right up front, how the carrier would even HAVE my email address.

I do see a lot of spam emails that reference some delivery and I've never seen one that looked legit, even on the subject line. They must be getting better at that.

I've been getting one that says here's your invoice , and it has a link to a PDF file, and never says what it's for. Then there are all these odd ones for Viagra etc, with a bunch of language that doesn't make sense .

I did that a couple of years ago with a Fed Ex trying to deliver. I got spamed and my computer crashed. I was able to fix my own computer but it took days.

Recently, the e-mail I'm expecting goes to Spam and the spam e-mails goes to my mailbox.
