I saw a little bit of Nancy Grace last night and she was talking about the Arias case. What is going on there? Anybody know?

Also, haven't heard anything about the Pistorious (SP?) case lately either. Where are they with that?

Last I heard about Pistorius is that he now has to go for a mental evaluation for some period of time.

The judge has sent Pistorius for a psych evaluation according to a headline on my homepage. I can't view the accompanying video.

I heard that too. I hope it's a comprehensive evaluation and that they find something. It's going to delay the trial for at least a month.

Supposedly he's suffered from an anxiety order since childhood. I guess they are trying to go with that defense now.

I read that Arias is about to meet her new jury. Nothing more.

He's also paranoid, judging by the way he is with his guns. I guess they're desperately looking for an excuse for his behavior since things don't look so good for him, IMO. I hope they find that he has sociopathic tendencies.

Yes...a psych evaluation.....defence is saying he suffers from anxiety disorder.....being anxious or nervous about possible intruders/home invasion.....as a person who does have anxiety disorder I'm not buying that excuse!!!!!!

I don't buy his anxiety problem either. Many people suffer from anxiety and don't kill someone because of it.

Why would Arias ""meet"" the jury? I don't get how their system works.

Did anybody watch 48 hours over the weekend? There was a guy on there who tortured his girlfriend to death. Beat and choked her for over an hour. There was even an accidental phone recording of it. That was his excuse as well. He hated his mother because she abandoned him and so he had this ""rage"" disorder so it wasn't his fault he tortured this poor girl.

Jury didn't buy it thank goodnes.

I heard this AM this could backfire on the prosecution. If he is found to have any psychiatric disorders, he will walk away from this trial a free man.

That is what I understood as well. It just gets more interesting. I don't know how the law works there, but it almost seems as if the court is giving him benefit of the doubt. He didn't seem pleased about the judgment for required mental evaluation, but it might just benefit him at the end. Strange case.

Justice is crazy huh croemer? *shrugs* I know it is not a final verdrict, but just seems strange the lengths they go to in order to assist the criminal. It is not in dispute that he is the one that shot and killed her, took her life. What is in dispute is "why". I feel for her family, wish they will get closure soon.

I just read the trial is supposed to start in September....but that was the title of the article. Stupid I know. Not much info was given and I wouldn't doubt if the trial won't be delayed again.

I watched that too. The victim seemed an educated normal woman so why did she continue to return to this man, why did she drop charges against him? Knowing what he was likely to do, why did she return to the apartment alone to retrieve her dog?

I think the prosecution had to require a psychiatric evaluation because the defense already brought in their own "expert" claiming he wasn't a dangerous man, just a product of fears that go back to childhood. If the new "expert" determines he is dangerous, he wouldn't go to prison, he would probably be sent to a "facility."

I think girls don't believe their boyfriends will actually kill them, or that they can "handle" the guy, even though it has been proved over and over again that the psychos cannot be handled.
