When I first moved to SoFl there were a lot of fireflies but as the area developed and spraying for mosquitoes increased fireflies pretty much disappeared except in the Everglades.

There are summer nights here were there are so many it is truly magical watching them flit about. Little twinkling lights wherever you look.

I love lightning bugs! Haven't seen one yet, but I'm sure they'll be around soon. There were so many of them when I was growing up on Long Island, there was a light show every night back then. Not as many here in KY but I still love to see them.

And this reminded me to put out my hummingbird feeders, speaking of beautiful summer critters.

I'm going to go mix up some sugar water right now before I forget.

Your earlier reply actually made me laugh. Haven't seen any fireflies yet but the hummingbirds are swarming all six feeders. Beautiful, beautiful Spring in the Ozarks - after a very long, very rough Winter.

But, I never gave up because

There has never been a Winter not followed by a Spring.

Good to see you posting a little more regularly. I only have two pairs of hummingbirds that frequent my feeder but I sure would like more. Hope you have some tractoring going on.
