Why? It is so fake and make believe.... must just be for the graphics, as it is a totally unbelievable idea and a turn off to me.

Why not? Star Wars was fake and that made bazillions of $ and has entertained generations. The Transformers movies were hugely popular. What about Men In Black about all the aliens that live with us? E.T.?....seriously, an alien that loves Reese's Pieces? Yet it stole hearts. SpiderMan and SuperMan aren't real (i don't think) and yet those are popular.... The Avengers movies about all the super heros.... it's called entertainment. I think it's great to have options to pick from, sometimes a little make believe is good, even if it is about a giant lizard/dinosaur that is terrorizing the planet. I doubt I will spend my money to go see it, but when it comes out on DVD or online it would be a fun distraction to watch sometime.

Bryan Cranston is in it? That is enough reason alone, very good reason!!!!!! Love his acting, so versatile.

I can remember the old Japanese Godzilla movies, they were so cheesy but fun to watch. I was a little girl and would get pillows and be on the floor in front of the tv in our family room. Godzilla wasn't always a bad guy, he battled some pretty big threats to the world, not his fault he has big feet and a bad temper. Godzilla vs Mothra was good, I mean who hasn't wanted to battle a giant moth and win? He even fought King Kong.

It's a cult classic, there are people devoted to Godzilla. I think this new version will be really entertaining, it has been kept under wraps. I think it will be a huge summer movie, sort of like when Will Smith and Independence Day came out years ago.

I really wish that the writers would come up with something new.

When I think back to what Jaws, Close Encounter's of the 3rd Kind, Contact (my favorite of all time) Field of Dreams, was able to do, it opened up our imaginations! Retreads are predictable.

The Matthew Broderick remake years ago was pretty bad.

Luv, I totally agree with you, those were all ground-breaking movies and thought provoking, and sometimes downright scary! I was too young to see Jaws when it came out, only 7 and there was no way my parents were going to take me. I can remember the poster of the girl swimming with the giant shark under her. So, one of my girlfriends had older sisters going to see it, and they snuck us in. I have since watched it many times through the years, and the obvious mechanical rubber shark makes me laugh, but omgosh it was terrifying at the time. Contact is also a really great movie, it does make you ponder stuff, and of course Field of Dreams is a favorite, such great actors and the message of seeing things through "young" eyes again and believing in dreams. The scene with his dad at the end makes me grab the tissue box everytime. However, I don't think every movie is intended to open our eyes and enlighten us, sometimes just a bit of retread and predictable is okay.

It's getting to be summer movie season which is aimed completely at 16 year old boys. Sure glad I have the Rockies to watch on weekends because I can't go to most of the movies that come out during the summer.

Yeah, the Broderick one had a Godzilla with lots of muscles.

I like the less muscular Godzilla...........AND BABY GODZILLA....remember how he tried to blow fire and got smoke rings?

No... StarWars was futuristic.... plausible.... Godzilla is ridiculous and comical.

If ever a movie needed a makeover it was Godzilla...the originals were far too cheesy but c-u-l-t classics....I am looking forward to seeing what modern film making can do with this.

Okay... difference of opinions. Godzilla isn't your thing, so fine, you don't have to watch it, but many people like me fondly remember the childhood movies and sometimes comical is good. Of course I don't believe Godzilla is real, so that makes it all the more enjoyable. Sometimes movies that represent real life tragedy just get to be too much of a bad thing. Star Wars was indeed futuristic, and fantastic, and it may be plausible, but it won't be happening in our lifetime.... just saying. There might be a Jabba the Hutt out there (well not anymore if they really killed him, but surely he had relatives) along with all the other creations, so then why is it ridiculous and comical to believe in Godzilla?

Was I the only one that wanted to adopt an Ewok, or two, or three? Yoda would have been the best Uncle ever! Lots of fun at holiday parties.... levitating the Thanksgiving turkey. Don't have to worry about passing him the mashed potatoes, he could just jedi master them over.

I'll see the new Godzilla if it gets decent reviews. If they take away the 'cheese' then it won't be the same, though.

actually, the idea of what could happen due to nukes is very plausible. I am not saying that we will have huge reptiles running around, but there have always been movies about the fall out and ramifications of using nuclear technology and what mutants could occur.

in the case of Gojira, it was a huge lizard that destroys major cities! lol

the first 1954 Godzilla was not cheesy at all. It was dead serious with its message.
