First THEY CALL ME then the first thing out of their mouth is that they want me to ID myself - good grief - you called me , at my home ,. on my number. If i say I am who i am - at my home on my number - that is it. Then they either want to sell you some deaL or they want to tell you that you have a Rx due to be filled. Today, they call me to tell me that if I get my annual wellness visit they will give me $15. I tell her I went to the doctor last week for my wellness visit and when I came home and tried to get the $15 gift card the website I have to use to do that is not working. She argues with me that it is working. WRONG. Then she says she will send me forms in the mail that the doctor can fill out instead.I ask her if UHC is going to pay for the office visit for me to get those forms filled out- she said well , of course not, we paid for the original visit. I told her she was very annoying and hung up.I had actually already decided to forget about the stupid $15 gift card but, geez louise, don't be calling me and expounding on it, wasting my time when it is virtually impossible for me to get the stupid thing.

I'm sure there is a fee for him to stop and fill out a form after all it does take up his time to do it. And i bet that fee is more than the $15 I will get because he does it. They are going to be billed for my annual wellness visit - isn't that proof he did it? Anyway, the point is the almost daily ridiculous calls to my home from them - as we go through our messages when we come home there is almost always one for one of us from UHC. Every day! If we decide to drop UHC and go with a different co next fall - those calls will be the reason why.And then they always start out the same - can you prove your ID - when they called me - not the other way around.

We just cancelled this insurance after having it just 8 months The insurance was befuttled by some eye appointments and an eye surgery I had. Every other month I would contact the insurance with the doctor's billing office person on the other line. It took a year before it was settled. Absolutely ridiculous...

I don't know what the difference is in how they handle a Medicare Advantage Plan as opposed to a Medicare Supplement Plan (for those who have regular Medicare), but I've had the UHC Medicare Supplement for the last three years, and they never call me. My Medicare Prescription Part D plan calls and gives me an automated message or leaves it on my answering machine that I have a prescription eligible for refill, and for me to call them. They never leave any personal information on my answering machine, and a real person never calls me so I don't have to identify myself. I call them back if I choose to. Maybe you would be happier with a different company, or you might want to try regular Medicare, a Supplement, and a Part D plan--I've been very happy with mine.

Forget about the 'gift card' you get if you automatically renew (anything) via your credit card. That's for anything/every type of service. Sometimes the auto renew will renew at a ridiculously higher price, and unless you review each month's credit card statement, you might miss it. Happened to a friend re: a newspaper renewal.

I have to agree with you! When we had UHC they had a "nurse" call me constantly with some special healthcare monitoring program. It sounded helpful enough, since I had several issues going on at the time, until the questions started. They basically wanted me to spend hours on the phone, going over my complete medical history. Huh? Don't you have that information from the insurance claims that have been processed? No, that's confidential! So why am I then giving a stranger my confidential information? And could she suggest options for treatment? Well, no, she can't diagnose and treat over the phone! And what was the point of this "program?" This person tried to called me for months when I stopped taking the calls, we finally changed carriers due to a job change, thank goodness! And I'm with you about people calling and asking you to prove that you are you - I've already had my identity stolen once, I'm not offering my information to anyone!

I don't have UHC, but one of my least favorite developments recently is healthcare plans that want to assign everyone a nurse or "coach" to give you info and supposedly help you manage chronic medical conditions like hypertension, arthritis, etc. Excuse me, all you insurance officials: I have a medical background myself and worked in a doctor's office for years, and my doctor and his staff work with me on these issues! I don't need or want an insurance company trying to insert itself between me and my doctor. Thank you very much.

I have had United Healthcare for quite a few years......never have I received a call from them regarding any of my visits to my doctor, nor have I ever had any calls from my United Health regarding any prescriptions I take......

The United Healthcare I have is my supplemental.....and have always been very happy with them.

Maybe you have (HW) given them way too much information, and I would definitely stop giving them any more....... Your visits to your doctor is your business, and as long as you pay your premiums, they should never be doing this to you. Are you sure it is United Health that is calling you?????
