My Milo stuck his nose in a patch of burrs and we got them all out except for some right almost on his lower lip. OF course he sticks his tongue out when we try to get them off and I am afraid of cutting him with scissors. They won't pull off either.

Does anybody know, would putting oil on them loosen them up?

I am not sure. What about a small pair of pliers or tweezers? Have you tried that?

Thank you girls, those are good ideas.

I just had the sense to call the groomer. She said to hold him by the hair on his muzzle (yikes) so that he can't move his head around or stick out his tongue and use a fine tooth comb.

She said defnitely don't put oil on there.

I'll keep you guys posted. If anybody else has any ideas I would appreciate it. Might have to take him to the groomer tomorrow and see if she can get them out if we can't. Sigh.

DH is sitting by him on the sofa and every once in a while pulls on the burr a little. IT is coming off bits at a time. Then he stops and then goes after it a little more . I think it is just going to take patience now.

I wasn't here when it first happened, dh said the whole side of his face was full of them!!(Those are gone now)
