Thank you Lindsays Grandma for your response. I will take it........I am leaving Wednesday to drive to the city I am flying out of and then parking my car at my elderly friends home and another friend will be taking me early to the airport and I will have to wait like 4-5 hours and then take off and then when I get to my son's I will have to wait a few hours until he can pick me up so it will be a long day............I can't decide if I should take my computer? I don't have a wireless gadget so I don't know if it will work by just turning it on? I can walk around though and read books........

I have a set that is down to a couple of pillowcases that was given to me as a ""shower gift"" in the 70's. They are so soft and wonderful I have never ever found a set like them. So I guess it can't really be considered a set anymore.

I have had sheets that I purchased and used regularly for over a decade at a time, but that was back in the 80's and 90's. Most of those were from JC Penney, back in the day when they marketed wonderful quality linens. Today, it is nearly impossible to find linens that last more than a few years. If the material is good and strong, they use cheap elastic, or the other way around.

My mom still has sheets for twin beds that we used since the early 1970's (although they get used just for guest beds now) that are still going strong. Nothing was ever stronger than those good old percale sheets.

After I moved a little over a year ago, I changed the colors in the master bedroom and got new sheets.

I buy my sheets from Macy's..the Charter Club brand...I've had good results with those and they seem to last forever.

Another set I bought right here on the Q from Whoopie Goldberg and they wash and wear beautifully and are soft to the touch. Another set is from Isaac Mizrahi in a leopard print that also wash and wear beautifully and are very comfortable.

Wishing you well R&R.

Thank you for the posts........when I rented a home I had a clothes line put up and I would take my sheets out of the washer on a sunny day and let them dry and then after a shower I would love going to bed in those sheets..........I still only buy 100% cotton but they just don't make things the way they used to make them........unless you spend a lot of money and I hate sateen sheets.....I hate any sheet that has knots on them same with clothing. My skin is too sensitive for anything not soft.........The sheets I use for summer are from Laura Ashley and I got them half off six or seven years ago and I paid I think around $35 at Kohls. I love Laura Ashley but I rarely find anything in that brand. Overstock had some Laura Ashley sheets I got two years ago but they are not as nice as the ones I got at Kohls........
