IMO the one on the left looks like a clown; the one on the right reminds me of an undercover vice officer on a Cops episode that dressed as a clown and/or a character from Criminal Minds.

I would go with the new guy, but keep the old hair. New hair is creepy looking to me. Older hair would look better on new guy.

On the new Ronald. . .Why is his bow tie* around his bare neck like a necklace? With the shirt-collar around the bow tie instead of vice versa? Why are his clothes all rumpled? To me he looks like a 3 yr old who insisted on dressing himself.

Maybe for Klown Kindergarten?

*Or, looking at it again, is it just a red t-shirt, not a bow-tie? Still a sloppy look for a clown.

Exactly. The original is better because it is a clown. The new one is a creepy man.

It's thinking on a gradient, but they are offering more & more "healthy" (albeit questionable) fare..."smoothies" (tons of sugar) & salads (tons of fat), but it gets the mindset they are eating healthier...even when they eat @ McDonalds. Just a sloooooooow unconscience marketing campaign. Genius.
