Club Meeting

Gee, I don't know what is the matter with me. I just seem to say out-loud, the things that I am thinking.

Went to my club meeting last night. I believe I've discussed before how these ladies have refused to learn my name, even though they have known me for over 20 years. Last moth I basically told them that they were rude.

So this month, I apparently think it is okay for me to be rude. Last night a fellow plus-sized girl decided to squeeze through the area behind me while I was in the process of gluing which required me (or the lady behind me) to get up (I am also plus size) and move my chair so she could pass. What made me mad was that she was not sitting on my side of the table, she had two ways to exit...one would require no one to move and the other would require me or the lady sitting behind me to move. She made a choice to take the route which would disrupt others. She said to me, "Excuse me, you are going to have to move." To which I replied, "I or YOU could have just walked around the end of both tables...and then no one would have needed to move." I did stand up and moved my chair.

I am just tired of people. Now, I will probably have to apologize to her for pointing out the obvious.

Look, everyone has a breaking point, and you had reached yours-

it probably wasn't even directed at that woman, she just happened to be the"catalyst" at that moment-

alli n all it was pretty harmless- but I m sure you are a little embarrassed about it today...

Hey! I just watched anews piece on a guy on Pacific Coast highway who had a "meltdown" and stripped naked while driving and popped out of the sunroof of his Tesla and began a naked dance ! In TRAFFIC!

So a minor meltdown where you speak your mind doesn't seem so terrible...

So you were a bit testy... I'd just let it pass. If, after a few weeks, she seems annoyed then you might consider saying something, but really, what you said wasn't so bad!

Her saying "you are going to have to move" would have ticked me off especially when she was the one who made the wrong choice. I commend you for speaking up, I would have just sizzled in my head. People occasionally need to be alerted to their self centeredness in order to relearn how to be more considerate.

The girl I shared an office with was going on and on about her husband. Can't remember what her gripe was but she was the type of person whose life centered around herself. Guess I just heard enough, I can't believe I muttered to her, "You know, it not always all about you." I think it was a light bulb moment for her. Later I heard her call her husband and work out a compromise over the issue.

Thanks for your replies. I belong to a Miniature club...yes, I am a grown lady with a dollhouse. I actually belong to two miniature clubs. Both meet once a month and we make miniature items for our houses, etc.

Sounds like an interesting club, JJ!

If I were you, I'd wear a nametag w/ "Judge Judith" on it to the meetings...

They "might" think you're related to Judge Judy, it 'may' spark a conversation, and it might help them to remember your name!

I should wear a badge with "Judge Judith" on it, what a good idea. I must say since I had my mini melt down last month ... no one has called me by the wrong name ... at least to my face! I'm sure they have called me several names behind my back and I am okay with that.

That's sound like fun. I've seen shows about miniature houses - how they scale measurements and all.

It would be funny if one of the club members posted here. I have not seen any QVC fashion at the meetings .. other than what I wear occasionally, but will be on the watch!

Since I apparently have no filter, I will just as likely speak my mind at the club as I will on this board.

Speaking of hobbies and clubs, what clubs do you belong to? Hobbies are so important as we get older.

Apologize for what? I seriously doubt she didn't already know there were 2 ways to exit. Why she chose this route? I could speculate a few things but I will just say this. You had a "teaching moment" for this lady and others around you. Look at this as telling it like it is and also as something others might consider before doing this or other similar unnecessarily inconsiderate of others.

I saw "here, here" to you. Sound like exactly the same thing I would have and will do if ever faced with the same situation.
