What is your Indulgence?

I haven't had much time to indulge in anything recently, but right now my indulgence would be a hot bubble bath with some good music in the background, and a glass of wine, while reading a magazine. When you need to pamper yourself, what is your indulgence? Food, personal time, shopping? Just curious.

Reading in bed, followed by an afternoon nap! I especially like it when I can persuade a kitty to snuggle up with me.

I do miss my big old bath tub...nothing better than bubbles and a good mystery book. Dinner out is a nice indulgence although I do it fairly often

I do a bath 5 or so times a week. I love them! Well, when it's not over 100 degrees here. I guess mine would be shopping?

I like some alone time (I know, I know! Someday I may have way more of it than I want, when kid is gone and possibly left alone with others passing).

I like to get my house all cleaned up and orderly, take a hot shower, light some candles or turn on the luminaras, grab a book and a warm throw, and try to read some before I drift off for a nap with the dog snoring beside me, and a couple of cats on my lap. It can be any time of the day, but I like this best in the early part of the day. Tansy, I miss my old big bathtub as well, I could take a nice long hot soak and really relax. The tub in my house now was built for toddlers I think!

My hot tub (now that hot tub weather has finally arrived my husband and I hit the hot tub in the late afternoons evenings). And of course music.

Otherwise personally I don't like quiet time. Since I cant work anymore, I hate sitting here all day while my husbands at work.

My real indulgence is spending time with my husband and my children/grandchildren when they visit. To me that's happy time.

two things......i LOVE eggs benedict and i love alone time.....totally alone. the perfect day for me to indulge myself would be to go to a restaurant and have eggs benedict with a mimosa all by myself. then i would come home and enjoy the day by myself.....with total peace.....no answering the phone, texts, or the door.

Sunshine, I also love eggs benedict and mimosas, but I would prefer to enjoy them with a friend. I hate eating alone at a restaurant. Completely agree about the total peace thing... no phone calls or any bother, that is an indulgence.

jules, i love going out with friends also, but i have no problem eating out by myself.....i cherish those alone times also.

I wish I was more comfortable eating out alone because now I need to get used to it. For some reason, I just don't like sitting in a restaurant by myself... feels awkward, like I should be doing something, and other people are wondering why I am by myself. Dining is usually a social experience, so it feels odd to me, but I think it is awesome that you enjoy that time for yourself. I never had a problem going to the movies by myself, like a matinee to see something when my friends weren't available. For some reason, the dining solo thing is hard for me, although I have done it a couple times since my dad was sick. I went to Chili's one night, and sat at the bar... that way I could watch TV and pretend to be distracted. Luckily there were some really interesting people also sitting there, and we had some good conversation, but typically if you dine out alone you are left alone.

I had eggs Benedict and a mimosa today...But I wasn't alone...

I don't mind lunch or breakfast alone...or an early dinner...5ish....people do that a lot here...depends on the joint for me though....or if I know the wait staff...that helps to make it more comfortable.

Jules, if I lived nearby, you would have a standing invitation to go out to dinner or come over for a drink...its fine to be alone, but it's fun to have company, too.

I understand what you're going through, and I think.sometimes you just need the comfort of other people..just the support of them.being there. You don't even.have to talk.much. At least, that's how it is for me. To just know they are there when you need that company...

Mine would be a nap. I don't sleep well at night and I love taking a little cat nap. I indulge quite often.
