Both of my boys are in braces. I paid $5400.00 for one child and $6600 for the other child. The orthodontist started them off with different retainers, etc.. then put them in braces. I recently had to have our dentist pull 4 teeth from one child and 6 teeth from the other child to help correct the overbite. We have done everything the orthodontist has asked. I do not buy any chips, candy, gum, popcorn etc.. that they are not supposed to eat. It seems latley their brackets keep breaking, wires snapping and eveytime we go to get them fixed the orthodontist is getting very mad at them saying this is all their fault by eating the wrong foods or playing with their wires. My one son was almost in tears the other day from the scolding of the dr. This orthodontist used to have 3 different offices and recently sold the other 2 offices and only works in our area now. Since he has done that, we have a whole new staff and they are not friendly at all. The other receptionist was so friendly and helpful and the new one is horrible. It's like she doesn't even want to be there. The assistant is new and very unsure of herself and the orthodontist is just plain mean now. We received a letter today that any more repairs will be $25.00 a piece. I am wondering if brackets fall off that easily or are my kids doing something wrong.
