To be honest, I don't know what this woman's claim to fame is. I am unfamiliar with her as an actress.

I watch little to no regular television programming. I am vaguely aware of Ashton Kutcher. I don't watch him either! I did see stories with him and Demi Moore.

The news pages online have been replete with many stories about this woman's pregnancy. These two are supposedly "engaged."

I just cannot make myself respect this. Not that they care about my respect!! I think any woman is NUTS to take on this responsibility themselves. Having a husband can make this better for a women. Okay, I hear all the stories about how it's not.

No way would I voluntarily choose single motherhood. And, it's not usually best for kids either. Calling yourself "engaged" does not mean married.

Statistically, having a 2 parent family is a huge boost to success for the children. Just common sense should tell us this.

I do not respect this trend of so many pregnancies without marriage. And that is my VIEWPOINT.

Yes, I can hear it - even if they marry he can still be a bad father. True, but being a husband takes more thought than a live-in or guy with benefits!!

Statistically, 50% of marriages end in divorce, (like Ashton Kutchers first one did) so the odds ARE that most women spend at least SOME time as single parents, no matter what!

She seems to be the 'it' girl these days. She is very cute. I

only know her for doing one of the voices (is it Lois?) in 'Family Guy' and I think she might also do other McFarlane characters.

That may be true in your experience, but It is not neccesarily so- The "Live in" guy stays because he WANTS to, not because he HAS to- same thing with parenting...

"We don't need a piece of paper to show we're in love." "He'll be a great father even if we don't marry." Think this started around the late 60's!!

When the going gets tough, either with marriage, parenting, or both, being married makes you think a lot more about copping out!

It's the weirdest thing! It wouldn't let me post the creds because it said the missing word to follow: W _ _ _ _ _ Witch of the East was censorable. I read that thing over and over and couldn't find it anywhere in the text.

Anyway, that's why I broke it up... to see if I could find where it was. It wasn't.

I don't think you can predict what will happen with this couple based on your ideas from the 1960's- that "piece of paper" never KEPT anyone married who didn't WANT to be..

And it DEFINITELY does NOT make a man a better father, any more than a diploma made the Scarecrow a genius...

I don't know if they will marry or not.

Money is the least of the issues I am referring to, although for those of us NOT rich, it certainly does make a difference.

I think either the marriage takes place FIRST or get married NOW. If you are willing to be that intimate with someone, why not marry them?

I am kind of just using them as an overall example of a trend.

I think he will be a good father...from what I have read he has always wanted children. Not sure what that meant with Demi though? He has plenty of money...she has plenty of money. They are engaged...so I am assuming they will marry and either way he will have to pay...a large sum towards child support.

Maybe this is more about your belief couples should marry before getting pregnant and you certainly have a right to your belief.

People don't marry for a lot of reasons, including the legal entanglement and the cost of divorce.

Marriage stats in America are way down in past years, and studies show it's usually the choice of the female.

It's not my ideas of the 1960's. It started going around about then that marriage was just a "piece of paper" that wasn't needed.

Most of us who are married have had really tough times in the marriage. BUT, the commitment made (legally) makes you think a lot harder about walking out.
