Since that evening I will be out to see my favorite band Pink Martini, a "pink" moon will be very appropriate.

During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon's disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red and more rarely dark brown to very dark gray. One of the great things about lunar eclipses is that they are completely safe to view with the naked eye. No special filters are required to protect your eyes like those used for solar eclipses. You don't even need a telescope to watch the eclipse, although a good pair of binoculars will help.

Just curious -- all this is on several threads - has this become a fight between the Heart Association and the Breast Cancer Foundation??? Pink, red, who cares - they're both excellent organizations!

If people can argue over this, what won't they argue about?

FlowershopGirl, Jannabelle, and Brii, you are welcome. Be sure to catch this as it is truly spectacular and fun to watch !

Personally, I am fascinated and inspired by the beauty and awe-inspiring show of the heavens, and I know others are as well, so that's one reason I did post this in so many threads, for those who wouldn't hear about it but might have interest in seeing the phenomenon.

I love the planetarium, and all things of God's creations. The heavens and it's mysteries, beauties, and gorgeous displays never stop surprising me with the most unusual, mind- blowing and rare occurrences as our planet rotates on it's axis and we get to witness some of the most beautiful creations man has the pleasure to observe.

The Pink Moon graphic above was posted by the Breast Cancer Society in their "Fight Like A Girl" campaign honoring breast cancer survivors, of which I am a member. When I found it, I wanted people to be able to see this beautiful eclipse, which will actually turn many different colors from orange to red to brown and other colors as Sunshine mentioned.

You didn't get to read her message because Yuban was so bent on discrediting my number of posts and why I was referring to the moon as pink, that she ended up getting all of them deleted, along with posts by other people who had commented on this eclipse.

I don't care if Red is for Hear Disease and Pink is for Breast Cancer, because actually I have both ! But I was following the theme in which it was colored and intended. I knew people would decide for themselves after seeing it. I thought it more important that people SEE this gorgeous event than argue about it, but it seems that Yuban felt differently.

Now many won't even know about it because all of my posts except this were erased.

I do hope you share this information with family and friends for I feel sure it will be worth a look outside and be very enjoyable.
