DH just finished up the taxes....we actually get a refund this year! First year we have not paid in probably 15 years.....miracles do happen! LOL!

I paid as well.............and I thought I had withholding calculated correctly.

Never have a big refund but breaking even is a LOT better than paying.

Only year we did not have to pay was the year we bought our car and paid a huge amount in sales tax

I always do our taxes as soon as we get the W-2s...if we owe we pay at the last minute, if we get a refund we file immediately!

I always have to pay state taxes, but not this year. Glad to be getting a little pocket change.

I generally have to pay cause I work on commission only and get lots of 1099's but this year was way worse ( or way better, I guess, depending on how you look at it)and I am having them not only with hold at the highest rate, but having them with hold a $$ amount each month as well...crossing fingers for next year!

This is what we started doing several years ago so there would no be such a shock at tax time. We withhold a lot.... and then some... but I would rather not have a huge surprise in owing them in April. This was the first time in YEARS that we actually are getting some back. Not a lot, but not writing a check. The goal would be to be close to getting nothing back and owing nothing if very little. We got it pretty spot on this year
