Shipping Costs?

Does anyone else think it's ridiculous that QVC no longer displays the shipping costs of items online? Do they think they are going to trick us into thinking there is free shipping or something? This is just going to make more people, definitely me, steer away from shopping from QVC. I've always thought shipping prices from QVC are ridiculous, especially when compared to other retailers, and even other shopping channels. But this is a new low. I will stick to amazon and HSN for online shopping.

Ju Ju Bear, I think there were a couple of threads about this yesterday and some thought it was a glitch in the system? Time will tell I guess. If they are in fact doing it on purpose I suspect it will backfire!

I thought there might be a glitch, yesterday.....but it continues today so he seems like it might be something permanent....I don't like it...I want to know before I put an item into my cart....whats next....not letting us know till we are about to click "submit"....

i wrote this on another thread. the LAST time i noticed this had happened i also noticed that they had RAISED the SandH fees. a few days after it happened they were back on the item page.

as of now, the shipping fees show up when you add an item to your cart.

Oh wow. I just looked up a couple of items to check it out and no s&h fee listed, although there is a small blurb about 'plus shipping and handling'. That's just wrong. But I bet they reel in lots of naïve people who don't even notice.

Bad move, Q.

I wonder if this is their response to all the complaints about high shipping costs.

I made my first purchase at QVC in a long, long time and paid $7.50 S&H. It like to have killed me because I am so spoiled for free S&H at other sites but it was for two pair of D&C capris which I really love and had worn out my old ones. Other than that I refuse to shop QVC anymore and I use to be an avid shopper once upon a time. I am sure they have lost a lot of business because of their ridiculous S&H.

I had a serious conversation last night with an order taker on the Q on this very subject. In the box where they show the S&H, and additional $4.00 off if you wish to buy a second pair of the same...... Well, they showed a "special S&H Price" in that box. Then when I placed my order, she quoted be $6.72 for S&H......I said "wait a minute, it says Special S&H pricing"....and to me that $6.72 is not a "Special S&H price"....... Her final comment to me was that is the price they are showing her......

After that I proceeded to check out what other S&H prices were of similar items......and there was no price on anything......

Silver, hope they gave you 1/2 off the S&H on the 2nd pair of the capris you purchased.

I too have been a very good customer on the Q, but am really beginning to think more about their S&H rates......and my continuing to be a good customer. I do know I haven't been ordering near as much as I used to......

Instead of adding it to a person's cart to see the shipping cost. everyone should call the order operator (or better yet - Customer Service) to see what the shipping and handling costs are! That may stop them if they get swamped with calls.

I did get the half off for the 2nd item, ShowMe. $5 for the first and $2.50 for the 2nd.

One day recently they had a pair of D&C crinkle gauze capris on the air with free S&H.....and believe you me, I took advantage of that. Got them in the summer green, and then got several different tops that were either solid, striped, or dots to go with them.....and that was on a day when they were giving 1/2 off on S&H of any order of D&C after the first one....so, I was lucky there.

One thing I have noticed is that they are now shipping like say 2 or 3 different D&C items in one envelope......I like that idea.

I am going to do a feedback to them today about this subject.....and maybe if all of us did that, they would realize they are hurting themselves by doing what they are doing.

But yes, think if we keep calling to ask the representative what the S&H cost is.....like when they quote what the S&H is in your total bill.....then cancel your order, they will wake up. You know they won't like that when the rep has spent the time to place your order and then you say never mind I don't really want it with those kinds of S&H prices......

Many sites I order from do not show shipping costs until checkout. Sometimes they are shocking, making me rethink if I really want to continue with my purchase.

No way would I ever call cs to swamp them with nuisance calls, knowing full well this is not any of their doing. They're just doing their jobs and get to deal with untold thousands of cranky customers.

Plus that would just jam the phone lines and everyone who still ordered via phone would wait longer for a rep, I would think.

That is like, after waiting a long time to get one's call answered, finishing up one's business and whining like a child to the poor phone agent because you had to wait so long. You ARE the reason people have to wait and have poor customer service.

Having worked for years in call center operations, I have come across people like you -- people who press random buttons on the phone to get to the first available agent then whine because the person on the phone cannot help you because you intentionally chose the incorrect prompt. I am sorry, but I have no patience and no respect for anyone who intentionally tries to make other people's jobs more difficult.

Most of my shopping online is free. Or like Amazon one price for a year and you get your stuff in 2 days. I order a lot from Amazon, it is where I got my Iphone charger case. I ordered it Sunday and got it yesterday.

I always research for a coupon on various websites and a lot of time I get at least 20% off or more and or free shipping.

I'm not understanding why this is a problem. You see the s & h before you place the order.
