Evening peeps, I'll have to report my feedback later, though this season is close to unwatchable. I'm watching Survivor.

Okay. We got one. Caleb just grabbed me. Although my music library doesn't have a whole lot of hard rock, there's no denying his talent. This performance sounded like I was sitting at a concert of a famous artist.

lol - JLo just said the ""f"" word when Harry was goading her to do a hair flip. They bleeped it quickly. Then Jena made a remark about ""cr*pping in her pants"" but that wasn't bleeped.

I haven't seen AI in several years. I have discovered The Voice and been able to see some the sets. I think it's the better show.

I watch both The Voice and American Idol. Caleb was incredible tonight. Jena saying what she did was just a 17 year old girl telling how scared she was about performing after him. It really wasn't a big deal given what is on air these days. It wasn't a pretty way of putting it but not a big deal.

Alex is my favorite. He makes the songs his own, not a cookie cutter. I like Jena and Jenn too.

Harry Connick was nice to the contestants at the beginning of the show but he has become way too critical of all of them. I'm a big fan of The Voice and I'm not sure if I will watch Idol all the way, it is a bit boring. I would be surprised if Caleb doesn't win.

Alex is my favorite also, by far. The girls all seem to scream the songs.

It seems everyone's favorites, the last two singers, are my least favorites. After the first half minute I had to mute both of them because I couldn't stand the screaming, yet the audience and the judges were going wild. I like the softer singers with real voices. I guess this show is not for me, I thought I could watch it this year.

I hear what you're saying Ford. I can't tolerate screamers either and I would not buy Caleb's or Jena's music but there is no denying their extreme talent especially over everyone else.

I know you like Sam's voice, right? He definitely has a very pleasing voice to listen to and it very much on pitch but he brings little if any emotion to his singing and that's because he's young and not life experienced. While his voice is technically good, there's really no excitement or performance with him.

I started out liking Alex the best because of his unique style and voice but Harry was right that he's just sounding the same on every song. He needs to mix it up or make it edgier like Harry said.

I think sometimes the judges criticize just because they can. Of course Alex sounds the same in every song, because he has a distinct style. Just look at our current talent. Can you imagine Rod Stewart, Bob Seger, Janis Joplin, etc., in an AI competition? They would also sound the same in every song, because they own a particular style. I think that the judges end up confusing some of these young singers more than they help them. Alex is one singer that knows who he is and stays true to himself.

I agree with you. They are confusing the singers when they tell them to change it up every time they sing. As you noted, none of the classic singers do that and we buy their music because we know what to expect.

I just can't see a singer like Sam screaming and jumping all over the stage, but if I were to buy any of them, I would buy his because I could lie there and listen to his relaxing and melodic sound.

County singers never vary in their style either . . . so I don't get Keith saying that.

By the way, I thought Malia (sp?) did a beautiful job with one of my favorite Beatles songs, "The Long and Winding Road."
