This just started, the past month. I cannot see the tv right WITH my glasses on. (Looks blurry). I have to take them OFF to watch tv. Then I can see the tv well without them.

However, I have to wear my glasses while on the computer and to read and all the other times. I wonder if this has to do with the HD graphics on the tv or a change in graphics?

My husband said maybe my eyes are getting better that I take off the glasses to watch tv. No that makes no sense, because I need them for everything else.

Well anyway I just called to set up an eye check up for April because I was due now anyway.

I have worn glasses since I am a teen. Started out just needing them to read (I didn't need them to drive or for anything else until after 40). After 40, is when my eyes got worse. I have invisible bifocals, am near sighted, far sighted, (but I did have astigmatism since I was younger).

I cant figure out this tv thing. Weird.

I am 46 and just had a vision test earlier this month. Both last year and this year by the time I went to the doctor, I was having a hard time seeing and I wear contacts in both eyes.

Last year and this year my eyes actually improved which is why I was having trouble. My contacts were too strong. My eye doctor said that is common for vision to improve as we get holder.

Perhaps this is your issue as well?

Do you wear bi-focals? I did and I had the same problems before my cataract surgeries. I had to go to tri-focals. My long distance was viewed through the top lens/my computer monitor and things about arms length away were through the middle lens/the up close of course was with the bottom lens.

Sure, your eyes could be changing, but being able to see a certain distance is not always an accurate way fo evaluating ones eyesight changes. There are times of the day I can see better than others. If I am outside for a long time when I come inside my vision has changed, and this is currently, which is post cataract surgery on both eyes.

Maybe you need tri-focals for your middle range sight. If you have tri-focals already? Forget I said this.

Bifocals and Trifocals????

I haven't heard that expression for years and years. Don't we wear Progressive/Transition lenses now???

My husband and I just got new glasses within the past 2 weeks. Both of us got Progressive/Transition, anti-glare, etc., and I also got a pair of computer glasses. I don't know how I ever did without those... What a difference a lens makes. The Transition comes in a darker shade now. There is a slight tint inside but in the car, it really helps. Before, they didn't get dark but now they do. No more sunglasses. They are really dark.

Shorty - how are you feeling with the new med???? Better, I hope. I just got back from the Retina specialist and my freckles haven't changed in 6 months...... That's a good thing. Next week I go to the Ortho to see how my fractured hip is progressing. It's always something, isn't it???? Oh, and my eyes are so dilated right now, I can't see a thing, so please excuse the errors I may be making.....

Its only for the tv I take them off to see. Thanks for the replies. I will find out from the eye Dr when I go.

And no pain on the new meds, thanks for asking Sophia. I feel like my old self and not groggy at all which was a worry. Only 2 pills @ 10mg each a day is great. I get my new back shots in 2 weeks. I hope and pray you get good news about your hip. Best of luck!
