handbag sizes

It seems to me that all the purses i am seeing out there are either very small or huge. i prefer a medium size purse - about 12" wide. Even the VB bags they are showing this PM on QVC are all large. When I carry a large bag they seem to collect "stuff" which i hate and they get heavy. Is anyone else noticing that all the purses are either small or very large?

I see A LOT of handbags 12" wide. I always look at the width because I prefer a larger bag, about 15"

Try Tignanello. Seems to me, most of their bags are 12" wide.

Those are the two sizes of handbags I use. I have no use for a medium sized one. I like a really big bag for work or business travel and a very small cross-body (just big enough for my wallet, cell and a lipstick) when I'm "off duty". Maybe I'm on trend!

I really prefer smaller bags, but a few months ago I decided to buy a couple of nicer purses than I usually buy. The best sizes I could find were 14" and 15". That's a little bit bigger than I wanted, but, whatever. They are nice bags and I can fit more stuff in them.

The first thing I look for when shopping for a handbag is the width. I won't buy one less than 14"" and actually prefer 15"". I also look for a zipper on the back and side pockets. I organize my handbags so that I know exactly where each item is and can find what I want in the dark. lol

I have a lot of handbags, all different sized. The larger I carry the more stuff I have with me including my husbands stuff. Ha!

It's funny because if you need wire cutters, I have them, If you need a tape measure, got it! Anyone need use of a small stapler? Ha!

Medium size is my preference as well. I have seen and purchased medium sizes over the years and they can still be found. A heavy bag hurts my shoulders and back. A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a Travelon to take on vacation. Perfect. Very light weight, well organized, and can go shoulder or cross-body.

I so agree with you on this. I was so happy to see they brought back the cross body cargo( Vera B. ) A255560 It is my favorite and will not use any other.

Isaac has some nice, medium sized quilted camera bags. They can be carried cross body or with the straps doubled up.

I now have 2 versions. They are very well made and a good value for an all leather bag.

12" width is small to me. i prefer much wider than that,too. like you - i like bigger bags of at least 15". i have had to return a few bags bought on ebay because the sellers was off MANY inches and the bag was too small for my tastes! but i do have smaller bags for when i need them - like when out shopping at second hand stores looking for my next project or local outdoor markets.

I hate that they consider a 12" drop a shoulder bag, when it's really an armpit bag.

What happened to real, back in the day, shoulder bags....I don't mean a crossbody, but a bag that will hit me at the waist on this 5'9" bod?

I find that they keep getting bigger. I don't like to carry alot of stuff around. When I travel I do, but I put it in a tote bag.

And did you not see my suggestion to look at the Tignanello bags?

That's what I like...convertible bags. Also single straps. I have narrow shoulders and doubles always fall down.

I prefer single straps, too. I really have trouble with double rolled straps.
