I have been watching local news on it here in Seattle. Have not seen or heard anything on the CNN etc. guess it is not important as the missing plane.

They broke in on the Phoenix ABC news. Said two killed on helicopter news team.

The pilot is one of the two confirmed dead. The info is on KOMO's website.

In the helicopter a father and son who worked for the news station both killed. One person in a car was burned badly and is in hospital.

No gazelle, both the father and son work for komo, only the father was killed. The pilot and photojournalist were not related.

Sad situation, but...there was a Denver newscast that showed the crash images on live TV...and one of the anchors was scrolling through pics & boom...something NSFW came up. The look on their faces...classic Live TV. If curious, Google "Denver news helicopter". Honestly, they were true TV professionals with how they handled...but it was nervous funny in a sad situation.

I was watching KOMO when it happened. Since it was right outside their window, they began broadcasting it, before they even knew it was two of their men in the copter. They share that pad and copter with KING. I watched the coverage in real time all morning. The last thing I thought about doing was posting on this board about it for obvious reasons, plus it was a very local tragedy. I did check during the morning, and probably within 25 to 30 minutes, all the cable news stations were covering it. I haven't heard yet how the man in one of the cars is doing. The last I heard is they had upgraded his condition to serious instead of critical. He has 20% of his body burned. NTSB is still investigating.

It was a very dark day in our city yesterday, we lost a couple great guys, a great team.
