I saw this movie in my 20's and what should have been a good satire turned out to be boring and stupid. Hated it. Thought Warren Beatty too ugly to be desirable to any woman and it was just disgusting really...him on top of so many women who played it so incredibly dumb.

Lee Grant won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for this movie, one of the highest grossing movies of 1975.

I was very young when that movie came out but I did eventually see it. When he made Shampoo I thought he was disgusting.

I was a kid but my friend's older sister saw it. I remember there was a bit of an uproar as it was considered quite scandalous so naturally we were interested

Its ok, back then Warren looked good (IMO) and women dreamed of having some hot hair guy do their hair and more..lol. Its all in fun, not the best movie not the worst.

Warren Beatty never appealed to me either. I can recognize him as attractive, but he never did anything for me. Now Robert Redford is another story. It's been so long since I've watched Shampoo, but I guess I'd watch it again if I caught it on.

When I saw it back in the 1970s, I thought it was a great recapitulation of the 1960s. The polarization of politics, the frustration with bureaucracy. I liked the film very much.

I guess I didn't think about Beatty as a s*x symbol, I just saw him as playing a role in a satiric movie. Lee Grant was great in that movie and so was her on-screen daughter (who was, if memory serves, a very young Carrie Fisher). It was an excellent movie.

Today is more uptight than back then. But the movie itself was about the s*exual rev. in the 1960s; its own setting wasn't 1975. I thought Beatty brought a great movie on to screen.

Possibly I wouldn't like it, though, if I saw it today. But that's what I thought when I saw it in the mid-1970s.

I've seen the movie. It was okay. And yes, Warren was quite the womanizer in his day. However, when I think of Shampoo, I always think back on The Carol Burnett Show who did a spoof of Shampoo as part of her As The Stomach Turns soap. Tim Conway played Warren Beauty who had "coifed every woman in town."
