Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello my friends! Well, today's blessings are that Linus had a good day at work, no after effects from his falls, he felt more normal today than before, and I made a good hamburger soup for our lunch when he got home, it was delicious - got the recipe on line. I used ground turkey instead and that was great too. Another great blessing was that my cousin, Father Jerry, was here for supper and he's such a joy to have here! Even Sammy loves him and sits on his lap! I do hope you do concentrate on your blessings that God gives you each day, and thank Him for them and share with us too! Thanks for your prayers for us - know that you're all in my prayers daily.

Sometimes the biggest blessing of the day is that which didn't happen.

Lord, thank You for my ordinary day, a day in which my loved ones

have remained safe and healthy.

Scripture for the day:

Meditation for the day:

I can start a new life each day. I can put away the old mistakes and start

anew each day. God always offers me a fresh start. I need not be burdened

or anxious. If God's forgiveness were only for the righteous and those who

had not sinned, where would be its need? I believe that God forgives us all

our sins. We can honestly try to live today the way God wants us to live.

God forgives us much and we can be very grateful.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that my life may not be spoiled by worry and fear and selfishness. I

pray that I may have a glad, thankful and humble heart.

Dear Lord, Please give me...

A few friends who understand me and yet remain my friends.

A work to do which has real value, without which the world would feel the

poorer...

A mind unafraid to travel, even though the trail be not blazed.

An understanding heart...

A sense of humor.

Time for quiet, silent meditation.

A feeling of the presence of God.

And the patience to wait for the coming of these things, with the wisdom to

know them when they come.

Blessings to all who post and read here. Jesus loves you.

I am indeed blessed. Jesus watches out for me and keeps me safe.

even when I'm sick He makes me well in His own time. I have all I need. He made it possible for me to get my COPD meds at a reduced cost. That was indeed a blessing. Thank you Jesus!

Have a good day and Gloria I did pray for Linus and it seems the Lord answered my prayer. I'm glad he is better and doing so well at the store.

Good morning!

I am thankful everyday for all the blessings the Lord sees fit to bless me with. There is always something to be grateful for, even in the bad times of our lives. The news around the world makes me sad but I know that God has his hand on everything that happens, I don't understand why things are they way they are and we aren't suppose to know. We have to have faith and trust in God to work it all out, I know that he will.

Hello Bobbiesue and Lucy! Good to see you! Yes, God answers prayers, thanks for praying for Linus, Bobbiesue! You are so kind to care.

Thanks for a great post too, Lucy - we do have to have Faith that God will work everything out. That is so true. Nice poem or song you posted. And we should never forget that he watches over us.

That is beautiful Lucy. My heart is heavy and I just can't shake my sadness. My daughter who is 23 still doesnt want to talk to me. I have done nothing to her. I have asked her to forgive me for yelling at her last summer that she didn't care if I lived or died. She doesnt want me to go to her graduation from college. I have prayed to God to soften her heart but he hasn't heard my prayers and its killing me inside knowing how much she is hurting me. I just don't understand how God can keep doing this to me. I'm heart broken and feel like it will never end. Why am I being punished?

Felicia - My heart goes out to you - that's just awful, but God has nothing to do with it. It's your daughter's free who is making choices that are extremely hurtful to herself and to you. God is LOVE - and all you and I can do is love and pray for our own selves and for those we love, so at best they don't hurt themselves while they are hurting you. Does this make any sense? God is not punishing you, that is the truth. Just keep praying for her, and ask Mary, our Blessed Mother, to intercede also. Her prayers are powerful. Do you know the Memorare?

I'm not usually on the computer this time of night but because of the time change I decided to read a little before bed. This day sure has gone by fast and it doesn't seem like it is almost 830.

Felicia, I guess it was meant for me to come read tonight because I read your post and felt God speaking to me to answer you.

I have a friend who has a daughter that has done the same as yours, she has nothing to do with my friend and hasn't since July 4th. This isn't the 1st time this has happened and like you, my friend is hurt by the actions of her daughter. No answer to emails, phone calls, nothing. My friend has 3 granddaughters she hasn't seen in months, no Thanksgiving, Christmas...nothing. Because I know the heavy heart that my friend has, I can feel the sorrow you have. I know you are heart broken but please know that God has his hand in the entire situation, he knows what you are going through and he will make a way. Keep praying, keep believing and have faith. Go on about your life...as hard as it may be to do that...what else can you do? You are alive, you have a heart and feelings, you matter! Pray each day with new expectation. I will pray for you and for your daughter that God's will be done.

Thanks Lucy for your post, too!!! And remember my sister, Deil. Terri, her daughter, hasn't spoken to her in about 15 years and she's still praying. No one can find Terri - and her brothers are trying. After her sister died of breast cancer at the age of 45, Terri left family and Mother. So Deil continues praying daily for Terri.
