Some types of flu take a long time for one to completely recover. Of course, like many other illnesses and/or injuries, the healthier and more physically fit a person is at the onset of either of these, the quicker the will generally recover.

Many times, I think, people that are around children or around people that are around children, it is possible they keep reinfecting themselves. Some of my hockey players have been sick for a week/feel great for a couple weeks, and then back to sick again.

Have you had a complete blood workup recently? If not, they can often spot some problems when one seems over fatigued, or as you say "SO tired".

I came down with the flu a little over three weeks ago. My doctor said it was a milder version due to the fact that I did get the flu shot last August. However, I still had all of the symptoms for the same 5 days or so - just less severe.

Fast forward three weeks, and I am still SO tired!!! Anyone else experiencing a slow flu recovery? Ughhhh.... No fun.

My friend got the flu - he was in/out of the hospital, the ER, MDs, etc., and missed a full month of work. He's still feeling like a truck hit him, and it's been 2 mo.

This year's strain is a NIGHTMARE.

Keep eating healthy, drinking lots of water, and take some Vit. B-complex.

I am sure that I had the Flu in 2009. That was the year that the Flu shot was delayed because of the H1N1. I got the Flu shot a 8 days before I got sick. My doctor said I probably had a blunted version of the Flu. I was so very sick. It took me many months to feel better. I was Short of Breath and very weak A couple of months after the acute stage I got Acute Sinusitis and Bronchitis. I never thought my Lungs would get better. They are not perfect but I am not Short of Breath anymore. I still use a Ventolin Inhaler when needed. I have scaring in my Lungs. I hope you feel better soon.

That's why I refused to go for my annual check-up.........they kept calling me dozens of times, and I finally told/asked them why should I go into a doc's office/building just when the bad flu is circulating..............After all I have all year long for my annual, usually around October. 'Anyways', hope you will quickly recover and be back to normal in a very short time!

Many people think the flu as nothing more than a bad cold. My grandad had always been in excellent health and was physically fit. He passed away from flu complications. He was 55 years old.
