OMG-They're making film bio of Joy Mangano!

I posted this in Movies & no one has responded - am I the only one that thinks this is crazy? Why make a film on Joy Mangano?

Per EW & Hollywood Reporter. And they are in talks with Jennifer Lawrence to play her! I love Jennifer & Joy M doesn't deserve a movie, period, IMO (as "inventor of the spin mop"), let alone w/that good an actress playing her. I can't imagine why Jennifer would want to play her (if she does).

I hope it inspires many young women to follow in Joy's footsteps. Like her or not, Joy has been hugely successful, and I've been happy with every one of her products that I've purchased, especially the hangers. There are always a shortage of female entrepreneur role models and maybe if a movie is made, it will reach a larger population of young women.

Yes she is successful at HSN but so obnoxiously loud and talks over everyone....I can't watch her at all...sh eis such a turn off that I have no idea if she has any products worth buying or not since I can't watch her long enough to see her wares.

It could have been worse, I guess, they could be planning a sitcom - then they could star Joy herself! Comedy indeed! I have no idea why the spin mop got 'em, & not 10 yrs of huggable hangers.

I was just going to post that they better find someone who presents herself as being highly emotional and speaks loud and fast. I don't like her presentations either, have only bought and kept her hangers and little steamer. Oh, I did purchase those air cleaners which i found are not worth the money, at least for me. I ordered and sent back a few other "sensational" products because I didn't like them at all.

Maybe they do want to use her as an example of a woman who has made it, so to speak as she's apparently made big bucks on her wares, best by far are those hangers.

Never!.....I would have to quit watching Shark Tank if Joy was on it.

I can't imagine Joy's life being a Jennifer part. Maybe that whole story is just fake.

On the other hand, I can see Joy's story being told on some small cable channel as an example of an up-from-nothing (or not much) success story.

Sometimes, I think the best thing the shopping channels have done for me is show me everyday, examples of American women making their way and doing it well in a very tough world. They succeed, doing well for themselves and their families as well as for the thousands these female-driven companies employ. I'd rather see a show about Joy than one about someone literally cheating his way to (greater) wealth a la Bernie M. Just don't let Joy play herself - she has one of the worst voices on television for my ear.

I can't WAIT to see this movie.

Jennifer Lawrence is my favorite young actress...I even got a shaggy pixie cut just like hers a few weeks ago.

The film is being written and directed by the same guy who did Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle.

I bet it will be GREAT!

millieshops...I heard about it a couple/few weeks ago. I've recently heard Jennifer Lawrence is taking a well-deserved break. So I don't know when they'll start the movie.

It's Jennifer LAWRENCE and it's being made by a famous writer/director.
