This website's more of a mess than usual.

Anyway, here's a heads up about a message the "QVC Team" posted. For some reason, unless you visit the "Q Talk" topics you won't see their post. Here's a short version. They're accepting responses, so it might be a chance to "explain" our technical problems.

Security Enhancements with You in Mind

"We see you as an important member of our QVC family, which is why we want to help protect your personal information and give you peace of mind when shopping with us. To enhance your security, we're switching from a 4-digit PIN to a password on QVC.com and most QVC apps.

If you have a QVC account, continue to sign in with your 4-digit PIN until you are prompted to create a password.

If you wish to update your account now, please Create a New Password. You must first sign in using your email address and existing 4-digit PIN.

Please keep in mind that, you’ll still need to use your 4-digit PIN when placing orders through Automated Ordering and Text Ordering, even after you have a password. However, once you have a password, your PIN will no longer work on QVC.com or the QVC apps.

People better figure out what their Q account number is. Signing in with email is no longer going to be an option. Many here don't even know their Q account numbers.

QVC Shopper, I don't see anything in the sign-in process about reverting back to account numbers. It does direct the customer to a phone number if they need an email address for the login. Did I miss it in their explanation? (Wouldn't be the first time I missed a detail!)

I signed in with my email address and typed it in wrong and then added my PIN number but because some of the info was incorrect I was asked to sign in again. Then appeared a little message in small print on the log in screen stating they would be doing away with email sign ins. Try signing in again but enter the wrong email address or pin, and you will see the message.

I got the notice in an email and I assume everyone with a QVC account also did. It said nothing about signing in with your account number. All it said was to make a password to use to sign in on here along with your email, but you still have your pin for ordering.

Thanks for the info Q social.....another password to remember. Why are you making it more complicated to shop with you? How about lowering your shipping charges or getting some new vendors!

You are supposedly trying to appeal to and draw in the younger demographic...with Susan Graver?grandmother sandals, overpriced facial care for older women?

Young people shop on Ebay, Amazon, Zappos , and Sephora, where they get good prices and reduced or no shipping.

A facebook page with many made up members. We're supposed to believe that a picture of Jane's daughter posing in the snow was shared 30 some times? Come on QVC. You seriously need to make some changes!

I didn't receive an email notice. Maybe because I already implemented a password on the 25th? I'm glad to have the added security to any website holding my personal (and financial) information. With all due respect, I know it's a hassle but it's 'way easier to use a complicated password than to deal with identity theft.

I can't find any information that says our account number will be used instead of the email address -- QVC Shopper, I appreciate your response -- tried what you suggested, several different ways, but never got a message about the account number.

If anyone wants to have passwords "remembered" on their computer they can do so with the settings/preferences on their browser.

Hi DooB - I just went back to review the e-mail I ignored earlier this week I got that e-mail Wednesday 3/5. There is no mention at all of our account number. There is a video of Mary Beth Roe (which I also didn't view). The e-mail is pretty much the same text as in your OP.
