Hello my friends! I finally could sign in here - so that's one blessing for today! I knew sooner or later it would work, so I never contacted the Q at all. Here's the thread:

We can show God that we truly love Him by the way we speak and live.

May I be inspiring, Lord, and may everyone that I meet find You.

Scripture for the day:

"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10

Meditation for the day:

I can try to keep my life calm and unruffled. This is my great task, to

find peace and acquire serenity. I need not harbor disturbing thoughts.

No matter what fears, worries and resentments I may have, I can try to think

of constructive things until calmness comes. Only when I am calm can I act

as a channel for God's spirit.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may build up instead of tearing down. I pray that I may be

constructive and not destructive.

Here's some food for thought:

THE NO MAKE-UP FRIEND

By Sally I. Kennedy

God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still

sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

The No Make-Up Friend

A quick shower, and …uh-oh, it was already time for my guest to

arrive.

“Well, no time for make-up now, “ I said, out loud, to myself. Then,

“That’s OK. It’s Sandy; it’ll be all right.”

It’s OK to be ourselves with a good friend. In fact, it is a great

blessing. You don’t have to worry about putting your best foot

forward, or trying to win them over. It is comfortable to ‘just be

yourself.’

I saw a sticker the other day that said, ‘Jesus is my best friend’.

How about, “Jesus is my ‘no make-up friend’ ”.

It’s true: there’s nothing you can do, and nothing you cannot do, that

would change the love of God for you. He can never love you less, and

never love you more. He just loves you. That’s it; He loves you.

God IS love. And He loves you. Just the way you are. Make-up, or no

make-up. That’s good news.

BUYING TIME

A man came home from work late again, tired, irritated, and stressed, to

find his 6-year-old son waiting for him at the door.

"Daddy, may I ask you a question?"

"Yeah, sure, what is it?" replied the man.

"Daddy, how much money do you make an hour?"

"That is none of your business! What makes you ask such a question?" the

man said irritatingly.

"Oh, I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?"

pleaded the little boy.

"Well, if you must know, I make $20.00 an hour."

"Oh," the little boy replied, head bowed. Looking up, he said, "Daddy, may

I barrow $10.00 please?"

The father was irritated. "If the only reason you want to know how much

money I make is so you can barrow some for a dopey toy or other nonsense,

then off to your room and think about your selfishness. And besides, you're

only 6 years old, and 6 year-olds don't need money. I work long, hard hours

every day to earn money for you and your mom, I don't have time to talk

about loaning you money".

The little boy went quietly to his room and shut the door.

After about an hour, the father had calmed down, and started to think he may

have been a little hard on his son. Maybe there really was a reason he

needed to barrow $10.00, he had never asked before for money. The father

went to the boy's room and knocked on the door. "May I come in?" inquired

the father.

"Yes Daddy," replied the little boy.

"I have been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier," said the man.

"It has been a long, tough day and I took my anger out on you. Here's the

$10.00 you asked for."

The little boy sat up straight and beaming said "Oh thank you Daddy!" Then,

reaching under his pillow, he pulled out some crumpled up dollars. The

father seeing that the boy already had money started to get angry again.

The little boy slowly started to count out his money, then looked up at his

father.

"Why did you want more money if you already had some?" the father grumbled.

"Because I didn't have enough, but now I do," the little boy replied.

"For what," said his father.

"Daddy, I have $20.00 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?"

-- Author Unknown

To Whom It May Concern:

I heard you were considering a new manager in your

life. I would like to apply for the job. I believe I am the most

qualified candidate. I am the only one that has even done

this job successfully.

I was the first manager of human beings. In fact I

made them, so naturally I know how humanity

works, and what is best to get people back into proper

working condition. It will be like having the

manufacturer as your personal mechanic.

If this is your first time considering me, I would

just like to point out hat my salary has already been

paid by the blood of my son, Jesus on

the cross of Calvary. What I need from you is the

acknowledgment that the price is sufficient to pay

for all of your sin and your independence from Me.

I need you to believe this in your heart and to

tell somebody else about your decision with your

mouth.

The next thing I ask is the right to change and fix

your life so you can learn how to stay close to Me.

I will make some major changes and pevisions.

They are not for you to worry about. I need your

permission to execute these changes, My way and in My time.

I will change your desires and give you the strength to make the

changes.

Please keep your hands out of the way. Don't try to

help me and Don't resist me. I really do need your full

commitment and cooperation. If you give me those,

the process can go smoothly, without delays.

Yours Sincerely,

GOD

P.S. I created the heavens and the earth. I AM ...

BELOW IS MY RESUME...

GOD

Everywhere

All over, Every Place 00000

Phone: (123) 456-PRAY

EXPERIENCE

From the beginning of time. Before the beginning of time. From

everlasting to everlasting. I made time.

ABILITY

All Powerful

PRIOR EMPLOYMENT

*Created the universe, put the galaxies in place, formed man.

*Established heaven and earth by My spoken Word and am currently holding up

the world by My power.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

*I AM and I have all knowledge.

CHARACTER REFERENCE

Love, light, and life (1John 4:16, 1John 1:5, John

14:6). A representative, but by no means conclusive list of

other character traits follows:

*Wisdom - James 1:5

*Comfort - 2 Corinthians 1:3

*Truth - John 8:32

*Healer - 1 Peter 2:24

*Strength - Phil. 4:13

*Forgiveness - 1John 1:9

*Provider -Phil. 4:19

*Mercy - Ephesians 2:24

*Good - Matt. 19:17

*Peace - Romans 14:17

AVAILABILITY

*Willing and ready to take over your life.

*Able to put your life together again.

*Will bring all of who I AM into your life.

*Can start now.

*Will transform your life if you let Me.

SALARY REQUIREMENT

*Work in your life has already been paid for

through the blood of My Son, Jesus.

*Your only responsibility is to commit initially and

on a daily basis.

*To trust and obey what Jesus has done and wants to

do in your life.

Other references available upon request.

Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? . . . . . What do you see?

What are you thinking . . . . . when you're looking at me?

A crabby old man . . . . . not very wise,

Uncertain of habit . . . . . with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food . . . . . and makes no reply.

When you say in a loud voice . . . . . 'I do wish you'd try!'

Who seems not to notice . . . . . the things that you do.

And forever is losing . . . . . A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not . . . . . lets you do as you will,

With bathing and feeding . . . . . The long day to fill?

Is that what you're thinking? . . . . . Is that what you see?

Then open your eyes, nurse . . . . . you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am. . . . . . As I sit here so still,

As I do at your bidding, . . . . . as I eat at your will.

I'm a small child of Ten . . . . . with a father and mother,

Brothers and sisters . . . . . who love one another.

A young boy of Sixteen . . . . with wings on his feet.

Dreaming that soon now . . . . . a lover he'll meet.

A groom soon at Twenty . . . . . my heart gives a leap.

Remembering, the vows . . . . . that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now . . . . . I have young of my own.

Who need me to guide . . . . . And a secure happy home.

A man of Thirty . . . . . My young now grown fast,

Bound to each other . . . . . With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons . . . . . have grown and are gone,

But my woman's beside me . . . . . to see I don't mourn.

At Fifty, once more, babies play 'round my knee,

Again, we know children . . . . . My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me . . . . . my wife is now dead.

I look at the future . . . . . shudder with dread.

For my young are all rearing . . . . . young of their own.

And I think of the years . . . . . and the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man . . . . . and nature is cruel.

This jest to make old age . . . . . look like a fool.

The body, it crumbles . . . . . grace and vigour, depart.

There is now a stone . . . . where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass . . . . . a young guy still dwells,

And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells.

I remember the joys . . . . . I remember the pain.

And I'm loving and living . . . . . life over again.

I think of the years, all too few . . . . . gone too fast.

And accept the stark fact . . . . that nothing can last.

So open your eyes, people . . . . . open and see.

Not a crabby old man . . . Look closer . . . see ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet

an older person who you might brush aside

without looking at the young soul within.

We will all, one day, be there, too!

PLEASE SHARE THIS POEM

The best and most beautiful things of

this world can't be seen or touched.

They must be felt by the heart.

Now share this with the ones you love. One of these days, if we live long

enough, we'll become one of these "Crabby Old Men".

GOD

Hi gloriajean....I love Psalm 46:10. Lately I have referred to it often. I also like the prayer that ...I may build up instead of tearing down and be constructive instead of destructive.

Hello To All!

Gloria Jean, you're back! I know we might all use the building up instead of tearing down. I find I need to remember that on some of the forums when I post. I don't get feedback from my e-mails to you so I guess that somehow the spam filter you have is working overtime.

My blessings today thus far this morning are, I've got my dinner planned and prepared for this evening, I am resting up for another busy week and it's nice to rest up, I found time to discuss something with my husband that needed to be aired out, my azaleas are in full bloom and look lovely on the property, I paid my bills........yeah, I feel blessed.

Those who read and post here know my 'prayer' for this nation and her people. For all, I desire peace and knowing that you are loved.

Hello Jubilant - Nice to see you here! It's been awhile. So glad you are reading this.

Love Roses - Yes, I finally made it back - it was hours and hours - but I somehow knew it was not me, but the Q and someday it would work. And that's so true - we all need to build each other up instead of tearing down - glad you were able to discuss something with your husband that needed to be aired out - always much better than to hold things in. I'd love to see your azaleas! They are so pretty!
