Are you still using up an item you purchased from a "warehouse" club years ago?

I still have a GIGANTIC box of plastic wrap. I hermetically seal everything when we take it to someone's house (wrapped 3-4 times around), and I STILL have tons more left. I bought the box in 2009 to wrap over newspaper wrapped items when I was packing boxes for a move. I think it regenerates at night, LOL! I will never buy this again as it takes up a ton of room in the drawer.

I bought disposable cups and lids. Best I can remember, I bought them in 2005. I have hardly dented the box. I'd need to make coffee for 200 of my closest friends to put a good dent in the box.

A very large box of straws individually wrapped in paper. I think it was maybe 2000 straws. I use one with my smoothie and with my sons Carnation milk shakes. I don't think we'll ever use them all up. Maybe it was 5000. haha I keep them on one of those large shelving units in the garage with all our cases of water etc. Last time I grabbed a handful to re-stock the cabinet in the house . . . it looked like they were about 3/5ths gone . . .

we have enough coffee cup lids to last 10 years....and the box is at least 3 years old....I think there are 2,000 in a box

We had a lot a paper goods and general supplies from warehouse stores, stored in our basement. When Sandy visited us she used up everything. I have not returned to one of these stores. I am not over-stocking anything ever again.

Lol, I have the same. I use one for my smoothie in the morning. I bought the package about 2 years ago, and still looks like I haven't made a dent in it. I think they actually breed overnight, lol.

Lol, I have the q tips too. But....they were on sale at the club. And for a very good price might I add. I won't need to buy q tips for the rest of my life, lol.

Around 10 yrs ago, I bought a large bottle of Simple Green (160 ozs) at Costco. I have around 20% left. I also have several other smaller bottles of various sprays, so I don't use Simple Green that often. I think I have 3 more years left.

lol - just today at Costco I bought quart-sized zip-locks as well as their plastic wrap - the wrap that comes in a set of 2.

As I walked to my car, I remember thinking that I could have just paid for those items for the last time in my life! I know that sounds morbid, but I'm well into my 72 year and that's getting way too close to the average life expectancy for American women not to give me pause.

I was sad when I ran out of straws but all that plastic wrap reminds me of my favorite show Dexter. Why didn't the police check to see who was buying all of that plastic wrap?

Hi, lolakimono - thank you for the GIGANTIC laugh tonight!! Your post made me LOL, so I had to read it to my husband, and I was laughing so hard that I almost couldn't read it out loud.

The only things we still have that were purchased from a warehouse club years ago are huge boxes of plastic utensils. My husband bought them when he volunteered to provide them for our kids' scout troop, and our sons are both in their 30s now (just to give you a hint as to how long we've had 'em)!

And, lolakimono - we just got done redoing our kitchen, so we have a pretty good stash of disposable plates and bowls now, too....not in warehouse-club quantity, though, thank goodness!

Same for us, too. I'm a real stocker upper, but outside of things like dish soap, canned foods or items like office supplies, it comes, and it goes. And back we go. LOL

I've saved a bundle with my Sam's and Costco memberships.

Irene used up our things. I would not recommend either lady as a guest EVAH.

Millie, you never know about how long we might live - my ex-father-in-law just died last year at age 104! His wife died when she was 89. So, you will probably be stocking up again on those zip-lock bags!!!
