Who Likes The Song HAPPY?

I have heard some of it on a Fiat commercial then last night I heard the whole song and it is a happy song and I love it..........does it make you smile when you hear this song? I think it is by Pharrell Williams.

It did. It is being overplayed now and is in one too many commercials. Loved it, but am growing tired of it now.

Here is the version I like best. It was done by Bobby McFerrin. He introduced the first version of this song in 1988. Check out the link.

E.T.A. And I have liked this song since the first time I heard it.

I do like the Pharrell Williams song. I was on my way to work and heard it on the radio...made me feel upbeat instead of how I usually feel on my way to work.

It's upbeat without being hokey and/or saccharin-sweet...and I guess that's why it appeals to me. It doesn't give me the urge to roll my eyes or vomit when I hear it.

I am really out of the loop on current music - usually listen to talk radio, oldies, or my own CD's. I didn't even know who this person was until the music awards show a month or so ago (which I watched only to see Keith Urban, Paul McCartney, and Ringo) so now I only know him as "the guy with the Canadian Mountie hat". A week or two ago, a friend posted this "Happy" video on her FB wall and I listened to it for the first time. I thought it was kind of catchy and I began boppin' at my desk. Either that night or the next day I saw the car commercial and caught it faintly in the background, and said, "That's THAT song!"...back to boppin' a little more. It's a fun song and refreshing to see something positive rather than lyrics that demonstrate the devaluation of women, glorify drugs, and killing cops.

It is catchy, isn't it?

I'm impressed by Pharrell's ability to come out with a song about being happy that isn't terrible.

DD really likes the song. The animal shelter here has a YouTube video with the staff, cats and dogs dancing to the song. It's cute!
