No Idol threads?

I was at the theater last night, but recorded Idol to watch when I got home. Fast forwarded through everyone but the rocker chick. (She was great.)

I used to love this show; I hope it gets better.

this is the first season I just do not care about it one bit. Over it. I think the idol is close to its last season.

We saw it last night and I ended up falling asleep through most of it. The only ones we thought were good were Sam, Emily, and Caleb. Jessica was ok for us, with Caleb being the best. DH and I are hoping he makes it to the end.

For the most part, found it to be rather boring.

IMO, the contestants on The Voice were far better than the majority of those on AI.

Caleb, Alex and Sam were the strongest, but overall this group is pretty bad........

I really think this is the most untalented group (as a whole....there are a few pretty good artists) of singers they've had since the early days.

I can't believe out of all those auditions...these are the best 13 singers they could come up with. I blame the judges.

Why does The Voice get such better singers I wonder? No age restriction? What???

I think The Voice goes out and handpicks their contestants for "auditions".

You will notice, there are not many that do not have a lot of professional experience prior to coming to The Voice-- and there are not any "terrible" singers. No big auditions in cities, where any and all show up.

ETA: just different concepts in the shows, nothing wrong with either. One raw, the other more polished.

Thanks, Marianne. I think you're right. Plus....the Voice really does emphasize the "voice"....as opposed to Idol which is looking for a very marketable "star" who also has the "look".....and certain personality. Plus...their demographic is probably more skewed to 11 year old girls.......which might account for a LOT of who they let go through!

Yep...Caleb , Sam, Jess and Alex. Last night Was kind of disappointing IMO.

I liked the last guy best too. I guess the girl who I like best is Jena. So far, I like Harry as a judge, but I'm eager to hear some other types of music. It just seemed that there was so much screaming last night. Guess I'm not in love with that type of music.

I wonder where some of these kids get these songs they have been singing....I'm not removed from the loop and for the most part listen to the top 100 on my radio station....some of these songs they have sang over the last 2 weeks are stuff I never heard before...I think if they were singing more mainstream songs they might be better....I think these 13 have talent...but song choice is sooooo very important.
